Why are we still stuck on 5.8.16 for GNU/Linux ?

Hi all,
Why are we still stuck on 5.8.16 for GNU/Linux when 5.10.21 is already available
http://boincdl.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_5.10.21_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh ?

I ask I had gone away for the same reason, its been 6 months or something close to that & still no change. Comments please.

Regards,

Shirish

5.10.21 for Linux was only very recently promoted to "Recommended" by Berkeley. WCG prefer to wait a little longer to see whether any unexpected problems arise.

You are welcome to install the version from Berkeley if you wish.

Hi Shirish,

Note that if you go to the Berkeley download page this moment the 32 bit 5.8.16 still carries the "Recommended" together with 5.10.21, so why fix something which is not broken?

Expect for the official upgrade version by WCG to be a higher number. Berkeley is at 5.10.28 and the Upload/Download issues just continue on.

cheers
