Folks over here started calling California that because they act like a whole different country from the rest of us. 'stan gets added like Afghanistan, Kyrgistan, etc because that's about as far around the world from us as it can get and just as foreign as some goings on in California.

I still not understand what I did wrong, Ghost Plane,
except for that slight overstay of six years as an illegal alien. I don't wanna go to no -stan; I just wanna go to Florida and flash my finest dress ... Good Afternoon Base Campers! 19 tents of all colors and shapes, smoke rising from the fire pit, the barbecue is on and so is the sauna. In Denmark a lot of people had saunas installed in their homes many years ago. They ended up as oversize drying cabinets used for drying clothes after bicycle trips in the cold rain .... - not so with our Captain's sauna - well, we have annexed a corner for our wet, cold, gear, tents being tents and Finland being Suomi - but mainly it's used for saunaing - and now we are waiting for that foot of ice to form on the lake - and to watch our Captain cutting out a square with his chain saw so we can try the icy water You should try everything once in your life, some says, and this would probably be a first for all of us. The day after tomorrow, we hope nano moves over as is his plan, and I intend to PM a few of our usuals with a reminder, suspecting they forgot in the fray of real life. It's none of my business: - but that has never been an obstacle - The permanent member CatZoLupa lifted off and turned in a WU - the only one not in business is permanent member Smoke66. The two new permanent ones from the weekend, Soong and Zoggerty, hum along merrily. The Godfather Waltz Crunchers, adventurous ones with a sense of humour and a flexible mind are invited to join our Forum and our current Trek #31 ![]() |

brrrr ... 3 inches would do
- honestly, does it matter when you take the plunge? Would you do that again or is it one of these once-in-a-lifetime things? - you deserve a very special badge <luckily I know the photographer was there to witness that one!> ![]() In other news I'm proud to announce that our Newest Base Camper took one long trek from Georgia to Finland and pitched his tent thataway >>> Welcome, nanoprobe ![]() |

It's been years ago when i used to do the sauna (hot rocks in a hut of fir bough's) thing with some Native American friends and take the plunge, very exhilarating, but make sure your healthy or it could be deadly.
