Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

A warm-hearted welcome to you, ipkh hugs , I heard mevrouw Little Mermaid has been showing you around the grounds. Did you have a good night's sleep? sleep It's a sunny day today cool , so enjoy your stay and crunch away! applause

Thank you!

Now … I'm off … to …

Mevrouw Little Mermaid, mevrouw Little Mermaid! Aah … right, there you are. I heard something strange about someone on his way to our Grand top40.nl Hotel, falling into a ditch (not the hotel, of course) or something like that, wandering off into the fields, getting lost (no wonder) … tsk tsk … It's such a sad experience! Are you able to get him back here and offer him clean clothes and a room? Plus of course a free short course Dutch! laughing
Handy for onderweg (on his way) traveling back to our Grand Hotel.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Now I know why I couldn’t find SeriousCrunchers on the scoreboard for the Christmas Challenge 2017
- I looked up above us, but at the moment they are actually below us at #16. That will change crying

It’s looking a little dark here even on a clear day at 4:48 pm, adriverhoef

I cannot think of anyone else I can invite; most of the crunchers I know
* don’t seem interested
* don’t want to take a vacation in your interesting country (they will never know what they miss)
* or have affiliated themselves with teams that right now are our competitors.
All of team Kraland could be candidates, but they run this race as well.
My Little Brother took a wrong turn … tsk, tsk, tsk ....

Do you have any ideas, Captain?

And to answer your question about my straying Little Brother tanner2 from Minnesota of Norwegian origins:
Yes, I could rope him in, and that is the very reason for me not doing that shame on you
I'm no Jolene wink
If I rejoin top40.nl next year if/when you decide to sign up for a race, I shall issue him a personal invitation, and I'm sure he will be here

Right Lil' Brother? love struck
EDIT: (they will never know that they miss) that -> what
Added: I assure you it's much harder to be Mama Base Camp this time around than it was five years ago.
Then Base Campers popped up from every nook and cranny .... by themselves ...voluntarily as in of their own free will .... no prodding needed .... no more sad
I'm tending to return to NAP2614's 'You Cannot Go Back' theory crying

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Now, this is a little funny, Captain adriverhoef, and brings back pleasant memories.
The backdrop of the 'Hotelsuite' video
happens to be Hotel Géllert in Budapest where I stayed for five nights in May and happened
- not really happened; I had made a reservation immediately upon arrival
to dine the last night on the terrace
overlooking my favorite bridge Szabadság híd
– the freshly renovated Green Liberty Bridge –
which in my opinion beats the Chain Bridge several times.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
I know you’re out there. Don’t be shy.
Im manning – womanning? – mermaiding?
the front desk at adriverhoef’s
top40.nl
Grand Hotel practically around the clock
to meet even the most discriminating wishes and make the stay as pleasant as possible for
YOU shhh
We’re in for a long race, so any stay – hours –
welll, maybe not exactly our line blushing
– weekends, weekdays even entire weeks are welcome, not to mention the full duration of the race biggrin
We accept payment in points tongue

The Vice President of this truly Grand Hotel has entrusted me with giving our guests free Dutch classes.
nerd Now, please, say after me: ezel. And again: ezel, please. Not bad at all.
That was the easy one.
Wait until we go on to zacht
- beautifully incorporating all the secrets of Dutch in one little word
please KLiK that little to-the-right-pointing triangle -> and hear for yourself.
Personally, I pronounce it 'a' cool
And the next time a cruncher walks through the revolving door of top40.nl
we will all clap our hands and exclaim - yes I know it's difficult; it's a full sentence shock

which I suppose means:

We had really not expected that!
* And we do it whether it’s an orangutan or a penguin, because we welcome guest of every stripe and color
* And we do it with a stiff upperlip
* On special occasions we may whisper – in our best Dutch accent:

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
You are doing a wonderful job pulling in points for top40.nl
I cannot see how any of us can do that much better.
I cannot see how we can man up futher even as we have
vacant rooms both at our Grand Hotel as well as plenty of space
in the adjoing Grand Camping Site.
Yesterday I tried you yell out to some people I know acting downright fifth column like blushing
Getting into contact with each other is next to impossible and based on accidental chance.
It’s like shouting from a rooftop in Tokyo hoping to be heard in the Kap Verde Islands.

I haven’t kept tabs, but I made some adding and subtraction this morning.
I have chosen to compare us to SeriousCrunchers who are right behind us at #14 and our French friends Team Kraland at #11 with Team Chicago-IL-USA between us at #12.
Date 20171206
#14 Serious Crunchers
with 725.774 points 245.090 points behind
#13 top40.nl
with 970.864 points 651.111 points behind
#11 Kraland
with 1.621.975 points
Between Kraland and us is Chicago-IL-USA at #12.
Especially for you, yodap Me and Mrs. Jones

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I don't know at what time of day the team stats are updated, it looks like they are somewhere between 12:00 UTC and 14:00 UTC.
What I do know is that our team is doing quite well as it's about to make a move to #12 in the Christmas Race 2017 as we're now only 5426 points apart from Team Chicago-IL-USA. One of our team's members has just added one device again that has only one core - it should crunch at least one large FAH2 per day. Every little bit helps.

Let's hope our guests at the Grand top40.nl Hotel are satisfied, mevrouw Little Mermaid. Hope you're wearing your rode schoentjes (balschoentjes) today (it will get a bit difficult, I know) and min of meer (less or more, more or less) having a fijne woensdag! (nice wednesday)

I don’t either, Captain adriverhoef, but the gap bestween us and Team Chicago-IL-USA was considerably bigger when I did my math.
What I do know is that our team is doing quite well as it's about to make a move to #12 in the Christmas Race 2017 as we're now only 5426 points apart from Team Chicago-IL-USA.
So either Chicago has a pit stop or we have pulled into some long legged overdrive.
One of our team's members has just added one device again that has only one core - it should crunch at least one large FAH2 per day. Every little bit helps.
How do you know? And yep, that’s exactly the quiet, stable thing Me and Mr Jones have going on between us.
Let's hope our guests at the Grand top40.nl Hotel are satisfied Hotel are satisfied, mevrouw Little Mermaid. Hope you're wearing your rode schoentjes (balschoentjes) today (it will get a bit difficult, I know) and min of meer (less or more, more or less) having a fijne woensdag!
I assure you, our guests will never complain about the music. There is something for every taste. This link top40.nl opens a veritable cornucopia of music where you can navigate to the end of the world and back and beyond.
You keep impressing me and everybody else cool
You are right, it’s difficult to find pretty red shoes that fit my tail. You wouldn’t want to see my existing rode schoentjes – they are more of a cyclamen but look like they have been used for mud flat hiking – which they min of meer also have – and the cyclamen clashes gruesomely with il pullover (from my Mario di Napoli years) which I just finished knitting yesterday, and which is a beautiful deep rod. There will thusly be a couple of technical issues when I throw myself into the pirouttes.

Adri, ever never has Base Camp had so much music. How lucky we are to have bumped into you love struck
I have wondered if you were actively participating in the Forums from your start at WCG? We must have been here simultanously, your join date being Apr 3, 2009, and mine Mar 20, 2011. We have had a couple of overlapping years. But I never noticed you. Were you silent?

And NOW while I was out the Management tells me I have a RUBY for Ebola.
This must be a mistake. I have read elsewhere on the Forums that there is some mess, so I may have gotten somebody else’s ruby by mistake, because I think it would never happen to me.

Anyhow: adriverhoef, Crunching@EVGA crunchers - you could have been included, Little Brother tanner2, tsk, tsk, tsk – and of course you're welcome to have dinner with us if you can find your way; do you have GPS? - by the way have you signed up for notifications of Personal messages in the EVGA Forums? Otherwise I - and you too - risk that you lose your way again ....
d oh Ahem, well, well, let’s do this over:
adriverhoef, Crunching@EVGA crunchers and Base Campers wherever you are – for making this a good trek so far 2017 style (one has to get used to new ways).

I believe most of us are from the colder climates – even the Austin TX, area is unusually cold today, I see - so I prepared a hot vichysoisse which is hovski-snovski for potato/leek soup, to be eaten with crumbled bacon and black bread and while the music cornucopia plays we’ll take the mocha with the dessert cornucopia in the Grand Hotel grand salon

- and we will leave the light on and put some goodies on a dish for you late arrivals tongue

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I was actually in Budapest last September! We were on a river cruise and docked very close to the Chain Bridge... but we didn't see any mermaids ;-)

It was a little chilly here today, but the sun came out and no rain, so that's nice. The potato soup was a good choice!

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

You were!
I noticed that landing place, Punchy@BC.
I hope they allowed time for you to get a taste of that jewel of a city.
blushing I simulated a human with legs for walking.
You did notice what a sediment carrier the ’blue’ Danube is, right?
The Géllert spa was more to a mermaid’s liking.

Not to mention the formidable buildings by the Hungarian secessionists:
The Museum of Applied Art
in
and
out
Not to mention the ruin pubs
Mazel Tov
out
and
in

Yes, I was hooked and plan to return.
