Good Morning Base Campers
Outpost Trek #2 - U.S. Air Force @ Collatz Conjecture runs very well, indeed. The gap between Air Force's Nemesis and Air Force proper has been reduced by around 20% since we started sneaking in. I heard nothing from the grape vine as to where that puts us measured by days, though. We have a New Camper: alephnull of the Air Force is crunching loyally now and forever for his home team, but has dedicated his one pet computer for going on treks with us in the future. Waking up to a wonderful morning at the shores of Lake Mead and looking around ![]() you see Base Campers in everywhich direction. The camp site management was very helpful in getting us hooked up - rolling out cables directly from the Hoover Dam power plant. You do check those temperatures ever so often, don't you? All the machines care about is if it's hot or not. It being a dry heat doesn't matter to them. It was a long haul for many of you so let's go and enjoy the plentiful breakfast buffet. ![]() while the music plays an little cute song Sommer, sommer og sol You may sing along on the chorus: Summer, summer and sun (Sommer, sommer og sol) The ocean, the wind and the fragrance of honeysuckle (Havet og blæsten og duft af kaprifol) Summer, summer and sun (Sommer, sommer og sol) Sommer, sommer og sol (Summer, summer and sun) En himmel så blå som viol (A sky as blue as a violet) The rest of the day is off for whatever enters your mind in this treasure-trove for recreational activities. |

LM...Lake Mead extends from Arizona to Nevada and if I remember right has more shoreline than California on the Pacific ocean (the Nevada portion) truly is a very beautiful place. the side canyons filled with water are an explorers paradise, and the fishing is unbelievable (been there done that)

I remember feeding popcorn to the carp at one of the marinas and the feeding frenzy was so incredible that carp were flapping across the backs of other carp completely out of the water! Looked like piranhas out of a horror movie!

Looked like piranhas out of a horror movie! Never thought you could feed animals popcorn ![]() But why not? Actually sounds quite fine, healthy and handy. Ugly with all those fish. You will hardly go fishing after that. What would you choose to do instead? @ Sport, you having been spared GP's experience, will probably take the opportunity to repeat great fishing, right? |

Corn was animal feed long before people found it!
I fish for food, not sport. Prefer salt water fishing to fresh water. Carp aren't great eating compared to the native species. |

Good Morning Base Campers
----------------------------------------Outpost Trek #2 - U.S. Air Force @ Collatz Conjecture has the same crew; nobody left, nobody came. The gap to the Navy was slimmed down by another 1,750,000 points. The grape vine keeps mum as to what it all means in days. cswchan, alephnull, you know the math; please speak to us. Being from the land of the cartoonist Cartoon story - Disclaimer: You clicked! Nobody asked you to! ![]() Kurt Westergaard currently standing trial in Jordan basically accused of having a sense of humor, I cannot help but marvel at the symbol value of what happened this morning (my time) with the elimination of Osama bin Laden. ![]() ![]() Well, what do you feel like doing today, Campers? Oh, you cannot play or bask in the sun? You have to rig all kinds of cooling devices, fans, ice cold spray, shades, you say? ![]() Some of you are crying! Oh, boy! I'm so sorry. I picked the entirely wrong place. You know what? We'll break camp and take Route 66 to Flagstaff and beyond. The high plain is still cool, well the snow hasn't disappeared yet. We'll meet there - 500 km to go Follow me .... Follow me - but beware! Just as you think it finished it gets your kicks on Route 66, so hang in there ... and then it stops abruptly! ![]() Dook'o'oosłííd - San Francisco Peaks - we are in the land of the Navajo Code Talkers. How does that look to you temperature wise Base Campers? ![]() Once the Air Force types pick up our smoke signals from our new location, I do expect them to bid us welcome with drinks: Ribena, low fat milk, Buds, G&T, what have you and snacks to go with it. And to cater to the romantic side of some of us: Hey Paula [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at May 2, 2011 10:37:09 AM] |
