So in fact Base Camp gained a new base camper on this trek as well - thank you hugs
Geezzz, and I got to meet my first Danes here smile
Well the first one was actually Fossaw, but he turned out 'only' to be a Brit married to a Dane tongue
- and I think your language skills benefit from all you new French friends, Captain
exactement!!!! très bien! laughing

little mermaid,
Previously Danes thought it tasted from wool sick

What would have been your reaction if I had proposed frog legs or snails? thinking
Maybe on another trek, if it does not scare you to taste.

For my part, I continue until Sunday includes, I have a recipe reserve express (I had not paid attention to dates) .

[GPT] ChrisRasmussen,

Super ce barbecue ! J'espère que nous garderons contact même une fois le trek terminé.

Great this barbecue! I hope we will keep in touch even once the trek is over.

Saturday Cooking !

Aujourd'hui : Moules à la crème au curry et à la coriandre !

Pour commencer, il faut vraiment bien rincer les moules. Et quand elles sont dans de l'eau froide avec du gros sel, retirer celles qui ne se ferment pas. C'est un test très simple pour savoir lesquelles sont bonnes à manger, et les autres (il y en a malheureusement tout le temps à jeter, même si elles sont fraîches) ;

Today: Mussels with curry cream and coriander!

To start, you really need to rinse the mussels. And when they are in cold water with coarse salt, remove those that do not close. This is a very simple test to know which are good to eat, and the others (there are unfortunately all the time to throw, even if they are fresh) ;

If there are some who are afraid that it is too spicy, say that with butter and cream, it is not at all spicy. And if looking at the proportions in the recipe link you find that it's a lot, do not forget that mussels and coriander perfume a lot. If we put less, we would not feel it.

All accompanied by homemade fries (to soak in the sauce, for the greediest) , and in dry white a Chablis ("only" a 2008, but it's already a very good vintage) .
Millésimes pour Chris qui a l'air de conn...r Chris who seems to know

Finally, little tricks: As it is better hot, and that it cools quickly, use a small cocote. And do several as you go, as it only takes a few minutes to cook. And plan at least one or two cocottes more, compared to the amounts recommended in the recipes, that in general people are asking for more.

Bon appétit !

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
Welcome jan649 rose I'm glad you came, and you're in time.
I'm sure your temporary captain will appreciate you staying for a week, though smile
Did you notice cswchan is back?
It's so nice when 'old' Base Campers pop up to go trekking along with newcomers.
Do you mind me asking which kind of seasonal busy work you're doing?
I always think farming, but it could be anything.

Captain ChrisRasmussen, yesterday was the perfect weather for your sausage grilling at work.
Today, you would need waders!
Did you know that you can make links to very big pictures more or less the way you do everything else?

Moules are fine, stefada. I admit that personally I never had them 'home cooked'
but store bought in glasses with chopped onions and peppers in a mild vinegar-like marinade.
I like to try as much as possible before I leave this planet, and I'm not afraid of frog legs, but never tasted them
- not even when in Paris
Do you like them?
I did eat snails, but they did not appeal to me as food sick
Perhaps I felt like a traitor, because I collected caterpillars and snails as pets as a child whistling
So that was one of the things I only needed to try once in a lifetime angel
Well, last day of Base Camp's Global Protection Team trek.
Late comers are welcome cowboy

Chit-chat
Rain an gray skies, a large temperature drop calls for hot cocoa and power reading.
I grew fond of German Daniel Kehlmann,
so fond that I even ordered one of his books in German from the library applause
