Blizzie, when I get my new computer sometime in the new year I'm going to have to consult with you. I'm thinking of spending about 1500-2000 and I want to go big. Water cooling is a must. I'm thinking quad core and SLI graphics (if I can afford it). Ram should be around 2 gigs. Let me know if you have ideas as far as vendors and/or components. JPF We are now down to 475,106 points left to go. That may just be enough to push us out to Christmas Day. It looks like Sunday is out and Monday will take some work. Still, we may still have enough time left before end of the year to make it to 51 million. We lost MSH22 from our active cruncher list but marysduby made it past 9,000,000 points for the year today. I see Dataman ought to be "potty trained" by now  having hit their third year of crunching! We have lots of folks putting up great numbers that don;t get into the Top Ten. No matter how you look at it, this has been a good year. We're going to have a real challenge next year rebuilding our number of daily active crunchers as we, like a lot of teams, will lose a number of folks running UD that haven't switched to BOINC.Well I'm a he. =P Name is Vincent by the way. Nice to meet you all.  My Core 2 Duo will be down for a few days. Working on perfecting my overclock. In the long run, it'll produce more points. ;) Watercooling is beyond my knowledge. I know how it works, don't know the custom components to create a watercooling set. Everything else I can help you with. You should have plenty of room to work with since you're budget is high. Edit: You plan on doing a high overclock since you're watercooling? My Intel E6600, 2.4 GHz stock, can reach 3.6 GHz on air cooling. Plus I don't have the best air cooler out there. But for Quads, it's a whole different story. Intel's new Quads come out January (45 nm). In the long run, it'll produce more points. ;) Sorry about that. Like I said, this is why I tend to stick to the third person.  I'll take crunchers no matter who they are. It does seem though that women are way underrespresented here at WCG and moreso in the forums. Disease doesn't care whether you're male or female so why should we?Dont feel bad . I almost made the same mistake when Blizzie first joined--I deleted the post before anyone saw it |

We are now down to 274,063 points left to go. That will be just enough to push us out to Christmas Day, unless tomorrow takes a big jump. Let's not let up as I'm hoping we have enough time left before end of the year to make it to 51 million.
