Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Evening all

Despite the forecast, it's been dry and sunny all day. A strong wind, however, suggests I should be back on the leave gathering. I've already had three bin loads collected but with the conker disease there is hardly a conker to be seen. I'm not sure how long the tree will last but thank god it's in next door's garden and not mine if it has to be taken down.

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Happy hols Peter! smile Hope you've got your umbrella handy devilish

Thanks everyone. blushing

I am at home this week, but have a holiday planned in Portugal over Christmas. This week is doing odd jobs round the house. angel

I did get myself a new toy though: a satellite-navigation system for my car. I don't really need it here in the UK, but I was thinking that if I have that telling me where to go and an automatic car, then I might be brave enough to try driving on the wrong side of the road and hire a car when I do go abroad next.

I followed it precisely to go into town. Normally the journey is 4.5 miles, it took me down some strange roads and on a very scenic route of 6.5 miles. I couldn't stop laughing. laughing

I think I need to play about with the fastest route/shortest route setting on it. since it is battery powered you can even set it on pedestrian mode when out walking. You just have to set it back again afterwards, otherwise you'll end up being guided to drive on the pavements! laughing

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Peter I have had one for a while, and find it invaluable, saves having to look at maps all the while. You must keep its maps up to date though, they change often. wink

Evening all

Everyone clearly having better things to do. I'm just grateful I'm allowed in again; yesterday evening the site wouldn't accept my user name or password.
