Evening all
I was AWOL yesterday but not I'm afraid because I was off to Church but the earthly delights of a belated lunch at a surprise restaurant as daughter No 1's birthday treat for me. Never knowing what to get the old man, this has now become the tradition as she tries to find a different place to go to each year and I am not to know until arriving at the nearest tube station. So, despite the rain and the tube at my end breaking down and someone nicking my umbrella, it was great. Today the promised rain didn't appear and so I was down to Homebase to stock up on bulbs and get some in the containers and protected from the squirrels. |

Sounds like a good trip Peter, a good test for the hew Sat nav too! What make is it? Mine is a Tom Tom, and they update Speed Camera's weekly! Maps obviously less rquently. Yes, it a little Tom Tom one that I have too. apart from the European maps I got a very basic model. I haven't tried update the speed cameras, I'll have to have another look at that when I get a bit of time. Co-incidentally I did read at the weekend, that you were allowed to used Sat Nav's even when a passenger in a plane. I am so going to have to do that! |

Morning all.
Good choice Peter, Tom Tom is one of the best! Mine only has UK and Ireland Maps, cos I dont drive far nowadays, but the speed camera's have saved my bacon a few times, and well worth keeping them up to date. I dont bother with trafic updates, road conditions etc., as I have that on my car radio. If you are not on map share, get involved, maps are updated constantly, and it's worth linking to Tom Tom home, weekly, I usually connect at the weekend. Well thats bored the pants off the rest of you! So...It aint raining YET! |

Well, wot a surprise - it's raining again  Off to the shops today (I really do not like it that anymore, in spite of the fact that I am a female!) - trying to fill the cupboards with things I will need when I am confined to barracks again for 2 months!  Alter .............  |

Good morning gang.
----------------------------------------Hey just curious (since you're talking about speed cams) just what are the speed limits there? I don't have any speed cams locally (yet) but I do live near a U.S. route that was built for sppeds upward of 65 back when cars had twice the HP and half the handling. Now cars have a half the HP and great handling and the limit is 45-55  Some argue that lower speeds save fuel, well, my V8 Mustang acheives max efficiency at around 80. That's where the speed is high enough to keep me in high gear while keeping the revs low enough to get 28mpg. But alas, it's rare that I ever go anywhere in it that I can find a road with even a 70mph limit
