Re: Freaking fragging

And Merle, the best known PVR is Humax although I have a slightly cheaper version made by Goodmans.
They act as a set top box to get all the digital channels but also have two tuners and a hard drive which allows the recording of one whilst watching another.Splendid clip Guitar Man!

Already got a set top and all the digital channels. Can't have a different one as I am cable here so have to have "their" set top box - no choice I'm afraid. I have a DVD Recorder with hard disk and that works fine except can only record what is on the channel it is tuned to at any one time. In the 'old' days, before digital, when I had an old video recorder I could watch one programme and record another at the same time. What happened to progress!! crying

I'm still stuck in the old days Merle. No cable down my street and poor reception, so couldn't get digital terrestrial either. Still got good old video. biggrin

Also just opdate AdAware and Spybot S&D. off to do some backups....alter.

Re: Freaking fragging

Evening all

Another fantastic day here, sunshine all the time and such a pleasant walk to the Farmer's market where I bought a rabbit and some bread.

Can't say that I'm up with the abilities of cable Merle, but I'm surprised they haven't got a way round your problem. Sky had the problem initially but then introduced Sky Plus which really means two receivers on the one dish. Perhaps there can be only one virgin!
