It's over...already?
Thanks Keith and the rest of the MOT's for the great effort in this first challenge. It was fun to exchange a few good natured digs back and forth. Not to mention the combined 13 million (almost) points both our teams managed to put together in a mere 30 day period. Those are great numbers in anyone's book. Goodonya MOT's ![]() |

Whew!! Busy, busy, busy! Anyway, just updated the team website with my newest effort. I've eliminated the use of frames. Instead, I work with a table for the page. That should allow me to swap out content and navigators together. I needed to get my feet wet with some PHP coding so I've built the function behind the Display Controls section. I don't have the input validation in yet but you can change the background color, the font size and the font weight (bold vs normal). Background colors can be a color name like red, an rgb color specification such as rgb(234,214,159) or the hex format like #EAD69F. Font size can be one of three styles - an explicit value such as 12pt, one of the seven values such as medium, large, xx-large or the larger or smaller values. Basically, what you can define for background color and font size in HTML. Clearly if you use something like 96pt for the font size, you'll royally blow the "appearance" of the page. If you leave one of the inputs blank, it goes back to the default value (what you get loading myonlineteam.org) and the default button resets everything. I've also got to provide some sort of "help" information so someone can read how that part works. I've got IE6 on one machine and IE7 on the other so I don't know how Firefox is with this yet. My C2D machine is a 14 inch widescreen so of course it's all fine there. On the normal 14 inch screen, I have things a tad wide, especially with favorites showing, so I will probably have to tweak the header image. I hope this functionality will be good for my fellow old farts with the bum eyesight.
----------------------------------------![]() edit: Oh yea, once you get things set the way you like, you can bookmark that instead of the generic myonlineteam.org and it'll load with those settings each time. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by keithhenry at Feb 11, 2008 6:04:30 AM] |
