I had no idea you could crunch with your GPU. Is there a way to set our GPUs to crunch and the CPUs simultaneously?


Well no. GPU is only for folding. Imagine the power consumption of GPUs.. And 50 of them.


how much more power do they pull compared to a quad core cpu?



Lets see. You need at least a 500w for a Quad and a 8800GT. THey recommend 650W-700W for SLI 8800s.. So I'm guessing..

Maybe 200-250% more? :S More if the card is overclocked.

Wow this forum has been dead this week! Especially when compared with last week. I have my German final today, so keep your fingers, toes, etc. crossed for me. I need to pull off an A- or better to maintain my perfect record at HDS. But that looks like a dim possibility. I guess everyone has to lose at some point.
