Re: big difference in run times/credit claims

I've also had extremely low points allowance for this project. It may be worthwhile the powers that be looking into the problem. C'mon, guys, no one wants to crunch WUs for absolutely nothing. The points etc may not be worth a lite in real term but, it all amounts to incentive. smile

Re: big difference in run times/credit claims

The one with the 4.85 hours is in all probability invalid. That's why there's a beta test going, for those who want to know. If that's solved the main discrepancy in claims/credit should go away.

Re: big difference in run times/credit claims

The time given for unstarted work is an estimate only. The final time shown on the client for completed work should match the website.

Uncertainty in the actual times for CEP means that the estimates are often misleading. The time estimation algorithm simply can't predict what is essentially random.

That's my point, it does not. Real time work is 48-50 hours, but I'm only seeing 24 hours credited at most, and 10% of claimed points.

It's a little strange. I crunch almost 40h for this? sad

My computer: E6600 (2,4 GHz) + 2GB RAM.

Re: big difference in run times/credit claims

Hi,

It's much easier for me to copy my own post and change a number
The one with the 0.27 hours is in all probability invalid. That's why there's a beta test going, for those who want to know. If that's solved the main discrepancy in claims/credit should go away!

Re: big difference in run times/credit claims

I've been hit too:

The resultwas done on a AMD X2@3,2GHz Linux box running the Windows app in a VMware session. More than 24 h for almost nothing. :(

Re: big difference in run times/credit claims

yes that is one of the reasons that there have been more beta work units for CEP released to see if we can figure out the issue causeing some of the work units to fail but validate a short run time

you could select beta projects and help also heck worse case is its another badge biggrin best case you can help find problems and fix them
