with this project, the absent out file error has occurred regularly between October and now. Looking at the logs, about every 1 in 3 WUs has the problem. Only happens on my 64-bit vista machine with the QX9650. Resetting the project has no effect.

Hello abulaafia,
Here is the post about running BOINC on Vista. It is possible to mis-install BOINC. For example, did you create a special directory for BOINC (recommended) or instead install in Program Files (NOT recommended). If you do not see any useful hints in the post, you had better start explaining your system in some detail. Where is BOINC installed, does it run as a service, what permissions has it been granted, etc.? Lawrence |

dont be ridiculous, I run Boinc on 12 different machines in various versions and installations and only ever had this output file missing problem with HPF.
installing in a separate directory or under Program Files has zilch to do with it. I have full privileges on all PCs. This is definitely a problem in the project, not my computers. I didn't post to get help, but to inform the makers of this project about an error in their work. EOM. |
