Re: The green green grass

Evening all

Not a drop of the wet stuff here and it's beginning to be the longest period of my not having to cut the grass since that hot Jubilee summer when I was in Bebington.

Re: The green green grass

You know, I have just noticed - even in my absence there are still comments on the weather - so I can't be blamed for it all! tongue devilish

rats!
that easy is it?
cool crying

well since they're predicting another scorcher for tomorrow I will enjoy it very much cool
(the day after can't possibly be good, that the national holiday and then we need ample rain for the "drasche nationale" or "national downpour" as our habitually soaked military parade is called...too bad we don't follow the greek example and have the frogmen close off the parade)

there was an item in the news about a new commonwealth war graves cemetery being opened in france after the discovery of a mass-grave from the great war...great to see that this is still being taken care of,
I wish belgian law and the horde of people we elect to keep it in shape had some more respect for our ancestors, my grand-mother recently heard that my great-grandmothers grave will be removed next year, only 15 years after she died crying )

Mornin....wet!

Trouble with small countries like yours & mine Evy is land shortage....the dead have no time to rest, they have to get up and move away....I have heard that over here they are now burying standing-room only!

Re: The green green grass

This rain situation here reminds me of the great drought of '76. It got so bad they appointed a Minister of Drought, it immediately poured down! The places in UK that are now dry should introduce a hose ban as we did here.....it has not stopped raining since!

Re: The green green grass

Evening all

What with the horse-chestnut disease and the dry spell, I am already fighting the dead leaves problem and will soon have to get my vacuum out from the shed.

Luckily, we have a brown bin, collected fortnightly, for kitchen and garden rubbish so I can get rid of it.
