Re: .

Morning all
****************
Nothing wrong with your calender then Ted its spot on biggrin
*******************
Over the sat Sunday past (known to working folk as the "Weekend")
I was doing some printing
the results got rather feint no probs install new cartridge
I had a stock of black HP56 cartridges to fit my machine ..........
Errr no,
To fit the machine that I used to have sad
Luckily I did also have the correct HP 144 items but not the colour version HP344.
I took the 5 HP 56 cartridges to work in the hope I could find some one that had a compatible machine
As luck would have it the Boss man did have such a machine and he purchased them from me biggrin
The bad news was I then had to spend on new colour items 50 quid for two sad

PS I know those silly numbers I have quoted is Like stuff you didn't need to know , the point is if you go to a large Computer store there is an aisle with umpteen shapes and sizes . Why the devil havnt they
made a standard cartridge one size fits all crying

Re: .

Evening all

A pleasant day here so I spend some time outside trimming back the ivy that covers the front of the house.

As for cartridges, I've been using compatibles from IJT for some time now at less than half the prices of the named ones with just as good results and absolutely no damage to the printer. You need only to use the manufacturers expensive ones whilst it's still under it's guarantee period just in case you need to return the printer to the manufacturer.

Re: .

Morning all

Merle, hope your Dentist enjoys his Easter break In Easter island
Funded By your good self.........
Why Easter Island ?
Those free standing heads Give him inspiration putting him in mind of
a mouth that is crying out for dental work .

The budget today I cant see us getting anything out of it .Vague hints of personal tax allowance changes in a couple of years?

Maybe?? Maybe....Maybe.... not putting the fuel tax up I suppose that's some thing.
but clutching at straws here sad
+++++++++++++++++
Ivan, Did try the compatible cartridges The black was okay the colour wasn't up to spec . As I bought them on line I rang to complain the Firm "Viking" said we will replace them This they did sending me the genuine HP product at no charge .
I wasn't bothered about nullifying the guarantee. just the print quality
Unless you have some Super-Duper printer its not worth attempting repairs .
Given a working life of 4/5 years the latest model will have improved (we hope) beyond recognition . The crunch of course is the Printer costs next to nothing its the consumables that make the printer manufactures rich.
I remember my VERY noisy first dot matrix .....
It might be I'm thinking in hind sight, that they built it so that it sounded as it was doing some thing .............
All smoke and Mirrors

Re: .

Well, I am back in one piece - no injection and no pain!! At least, the only pain was to my 'purse'!! Have to take really good care of the few 'knashers' I have left. or else give up smiling!! wink blushing Hopefully, and very reluctantly I simply MUST do some housework today - could now write my name in the dust in every single room so I don't think I can avoid it much longer. Such a fruitless exercise - as soon as I turn round, there it will be again - another inch of dust!

Hope you all have a good day (particularly as we apparently have two days of summer now), so make sure you don't miss it! wink

Re: .

I wonder do those sly me people that are sitting Shoulder to shoulder
in the house of commons today Get a bonus for attending on budget day ?
It doesn't say much for their 'telegence to turn up on such a busy day.Its like going to Sainsbuggers on a weekend .
They can see all proposals that the papers have missed in the past few days on the Goggle Box like the rest of us .
Watching the TV coverage is quite good for us, Spot Your MP your one chance to see him or her it'll be another 4 years till they come knocking on your door .
You have to be quick tho, scanning the ranks of look alikes on the green leather seats It would be handy if you have a photo fit picture of your Member. And as soon as the man with the red box sits down all 600 jump up and go get their delayed lunches . They truly all look the same to me .
The Blokes trying to look Intelligent and worldly wise . Quite some big ask considering most of them have only just started shaving.
It used to be that you could spot the party allegiance by the colour of their tie they Dont seem to stick to that rule any more .Having said that Directly Behind the PM there sits a Chap with a Weskit & watch chain cannot see his face but he is sporting a Yellow tie ???
Vocal contributions that punctuate the chancellors speech yeehh yeeeh yeeeh in a baritone . Great depth of vocabulary from university graduates .
On the Distaff side During PMQ's a sort of shrew like voice kept coming thru the general uproar with" hear hear" and "shame"
As the TV cameras don't roam we couldn't see the source sad
We did get a shot just now of Hush puppy man Seemingly having a quick 40 winks ??(seen it done it Got the Tee shirt?) Is that the same Grey suit he wore when he was Chancellor ?
Also spotted on the front bench seated next to the aisle in a light grey Suit, Is that Arthur Negus ?
Hey up he's going on about Pensions Its going to be Simple Bla blah Blah devilish
Its NOT going to Apply to Current Pensioners . so calm down its not for us. Back to bread and scrape only jam at week end if there's a R in the month
Good news on small contributions to charities Gift aid wont require Intensive paper work
I know the Girls in the office at work will be pleased Its a real pain
to fulfil the Gift aid requirement paperwork
Excise duty Sounds a bit complicated but at least fuel down 1p a litre from 1800hrs this evening. Bad news I just put 50 quid in the motor this morning. smile smile smile smile smile smile
Okay folks enough already
have a nice day

Re: .

Well I have been doing the "hated with a vengence" housework (and I chose the wrong day didn't I - hotter than the middle of summer here today!). So have not a clue what is going on in the "house" (as if I care?!!). Our "guy" is Michael Gove, so if I see him out at the shops, at least I will tower over him if I get near (which hopefully I will manage not to do!) As my father used to say: "it will all come out in the wash!"

Re: .

Evening all

All this sun just makes me guilty that I am not spending more time outside clearing up the winter's debris and a bit of gardening.
The forecast for the next few days remains good which is just as well as Saturday is the annual 'Village' clean up morning which this year is being encouraged throughout the Borough so that all is nice and shiny to encourage Spring.
