Good morning everyone. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's someones birthday this weekend! HAVE A GOODUN MERLE!  Urrggh!! These people who have good memories, (or is it entries in a little book!)  I am absolutely going backwards from now on (with numbers I mean!).Just got back from my walk, now about to tackle the horrendous pile of ironing (hopefully before I melt in the warm and sunny day) and then hope I have some energy left to get rid of all the dust!!  .Hope you all enjoy your weekend and the sunshine that seems to be pretty definite! Evening all
Twas a pretty warm walk to the supermarket this morning and crowded when I got there. Seems lots of us had the idea of getting the chores done as soon as possible so as to enjoy the holiday weekend. Except, for us, every weekend is a holiday weekend if that means not having to go to that four letter W word. I have a glass in front of me so I lift it and wish you all the best Merle. It'll soon also be our fourth birthday on this site although I, like many others, have been crunching 24/7 for all of this century. I don't even like to think how much extra profit that has added to the leccy provider. No hot cross bun 'cause I don't like the fact that the supermarket packets them in a minimum of four. Anyway, they were only special when freshly baked by your local baker. I got to know the ways of traders as a lad when I did a butchers round, a bakers round as well as the big Sunday paper round. We had to earn our pocket money in those days. No problems with Health and Safety regs then. |

....had a raging thunderstorm overhead for the past 2 hours....torrential rain so it saves me from watering the pots/garden for a day or do!

Another nice day and not a breath of wind. All very quiet out there. Off soon to get my weekly newspaper and hope that I don't get to the shop before it opens!! Hope you all have a great weekend and that the sun shines on you all. |
