Re: Another day another £$€

Been out all day, so only just seen your posts Scribe. My thoughts are with you and hope you get some good news regarding your tests, and that all goes well. Best wishes, from Merle.

Re: Another day another £$€

....ain't doctors wonderful? I have at last found out what I have had for the pat ten years!
Reading the Chest Xray request form it was down in black and white what was actually wrong with me, they say it is Fibrosing alveolitis!

Now I know and can tell every one.............I only wish I knew how to pronounce it! wink

Re: Another day another £$€

Good Morning!
Sun, sun, sun, light, light, light because we have this frost reflecting the sunshine
oooohhhh, and the birches don't move, but it's cold, and I need to scrape Rosie's windows ...

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, fibrosing alveolitis, lungefibrose
- yes it can be a relief having the diagnosis in words, Scribe, bearing in mind
it was a request form, not a report.
So your recent cold made your condition bad enough to see the doctor?
rose How are you today?

Fibrosing Alveolitis

Alvioi are the small air sacs in the lungs.
Itis means "inflammation of"
Fibrosing is "thickening"

Am probably teaching you to suck eggs, but I hope it helps!

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Another day another Dollar

Thanks Ted & Dens....the way it was explained to me was that the main difference between the two is that the "O" in COPD was Obstructive (Obstructed) which, as asthma, could be 'relieved' somewhat with an inhaler. With me, as Ted says, it is the little 'sacs' that lose their elasticity and ability to absorb oxygen, there is not a lot that can be done.....eleven years ago when diagnosed they put me on massive steroid doses which stopped it, I had to 'wean' off those over a number of years and have not had any for 4 years now......however it may have returned, who knows.

Has Xray this morning and am waiting for a spiromiter, or something test.....although I have been on lung function tests for 11 years now..... biggrin

Re: Another day another Dollar

Evening all

Best wishes Scribe. I'm coming up to my six monthly BP check up which the 'white coat syndrome' doesn't help.
