thanks Dataman.. :) have always wondered.. how many cores are you running? others who post in here? Dr. Mike.. I crunch on a measly 3 cores... In order of speed 2.0 GHz Pentium M 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 w/brain-dead HT 1.6 GHz Pentium M (almost as fast as the 3.2 GHz Pentium 4) No CUDA-capable GPUs. The 3.2 GHz P4 has heat problems except during cool weather ... so it has to run at 80% over half the year (and when it's on), making it about the same effective speed as the 1.6 GHz PentM. Now you know why I rule the bottom of the charts ![]() ![]() ![]() - D For the first 2-3 years I crunched, I would have loved to have your numbers. Breaking 1500 points was cause for a celebration! Today, I still love your points as it's that many more than we would have otherwise. We all do what we can and together we make a difference. You're doing what you can and that's a heck of a lot better than many folks. You have no reason to belittle your effort. |

For the first 2-3 years I crunched, I would have loved to have your numbers. Me too. I started just after buying a single core 500 mhz machine (I was so proud) and a clunker that did not like the UD agent. How things have changed in 5 years. I think it is the cumulative effort that moves causes forward. Every bit helps ... I hope. Well done Darth. ![]() Past time for bed ... got hooked on an old movie on TCM. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Generally between 16 and 20 cores. As high as 25 (depending on heat and some other circumstances). ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by RT at Jul 11, 2009 2:29:24 PM] |

Dittos to all the above--it all adds up.We have a great team that hangs in there. No one is to little. My machines are 4-6 years old except the one i just built and is doing better than quad core 6600 and the Phenom II quad was cheaper.--You can go to boinc stats marysduby and see what i am running i think i am 215 right now go to the right and hit detailed stats |
