Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Thanks for that, toss. The news, the particular news who like to sell global cooling fiction, was awash of the south island inundation of record volumes. This one is good:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10740847

"Big snow turns to big slush"

The first paragraph probably contributed to the superlatives.

An aunt of mine lives on the North Island, near Auckland. She keeps us apace what's going on down there, by snail mail. Well in her 80s, a computer and skype is voodoo still, but she got a cellphone. :D

NZ Herald is just another corporate infotainment vehicle. Foreign owned with biggest shareholder being Ireland's O'Reilly.
Like any big corporate media - drama usually outweighs reality!

Some parts of the country did grind to a halt. But that is simply because we are not equipped for these occasional dumpings of snow. No snow ploughs, vehicles don't have snow tyres so roads get closed, etc.
Therefore big drama and hence the slush in the article, because we have to just leave it to thaw and drain away over subsequent days.

The polar bears are smartening up... no ice, let's row:

Recently there was a hmmm about Dr. Charles Monnett, in this thread. Another being smeared and subjected to McCarthy methods in the vain of guilty until proven innocent, coming from same circles. If "they" (in the3rd person like the title of this thread) can't debunk the science, go for the person. Well it was by all the information that came loose a deep dig expedition. He put out an invitation to perform a study and there was only one applicant, who happened to be the only one to have the expertise. When the applicant put in a draft of proposal, Monnett helped out to get the I dotted in the proper format, and that is contrived as inappropriate. Monnett is under gag order, but the transcripts of the investigation and interrogations are not. What we do know is from director Michael Bromwich "that the suspension of Dr. Monnett “had nothing to do with his scientific work, or anything relating to a five-year old journal article.”

Courtesy of David Autumns we now know what the MET pays a highly qualified, PhD holding, many years of experience having scientist and can make... tops 38,000 pound sterling (44000 Euro), and fell of me chair. It proves it, these guys are Only In It For The Gold

Food for thought, but maybe just the select!

P.S. Any word yet as to when James Hansen is hoped to go to jail over receiving 1.2 million in price money? Good old Eric the Red... send off from *Ice-land* for ill deeds, going west, and not hitting the Green-land coast a little more northern. It almost had been "Ice-land Too?". Men then of true grit.

Thanks for copying the full mail, GeraldRube, folks can't hit links to see.. oh wait, you have to have a Google account to see where it came from [another ranter of the CFP genes?]. Putting [quote ] [ /quote] (without the space between the brackets), around the text would have made it clear, up front it's not you who's penned the text. You could put the text in words "quote" "unquote" around it... not even a need to put some BBcode in.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Thanks for the advice,it wasn't meant for anyone to assume it was penned by me--but i certainly appreciate your mentoring and keeping me up to speed wink Please dont hesitate to correct me in the future as i am just a humble real old uneducated handy man sad

The never ending fishing expeditions against Dr. Micheal Mann and another one bit the dust: Climate Secret: NSF Quietly Closes Out Inspec...ndication of Michael Mann

It must be hugely inconvenient to not hear the desired truth. Unless we face it, it won't go away though.

--//--

P.S. Anyone heard more on Ken Cuccinelli has his crusade against Micheal Mann? Rumor circles suggest that it is actually KC Sr pulling the ropes and going on what they learned from an institute called Rianovosti (Russian news group). Anyone got the latest from the persecution department?

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Let's update the 2011 hurricane chart. With a category 3 hurricane threatening the eastern US coast, I hope that the "no hurricanes this year" group is happy now.

a named storm response to this chart, which only has hurricanes. The season is not yet over.....PLUS there are other hurricanes and cyclones and typhoons elsewhere mentioned above. The weather isn't exactly quiet.
