I'm glad that Climate Science isn't settled and our ability to increase our understanding of our environment continues. It's our best trait - curiosity.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The February 2014 result is in and the average temperature from 2438 NOAA Weather Stations around the Globe was 2.722C - the coldest February in the series.

The average temperature March 2013 through to the end of February 2014 was 12.153C - the lowest yearly average temperature in the series

Here's another forum friendly sized graph that updates hourly

The graphs above are (at this moment in time) the result of 69,644,472 individual temperature measurements taken around the Globe from NOAA Weather Stations since the beginning of 2011 cool

Again I'll leave it with you to decide if we are suffering catastrophic "Man Made" warming of our beautiful Planet.

http://phys.org/news/2014-02-nasa-satellite-great-lakes.html

The ice reached an even greater extent on Feb. 13, when it covered about 88 percent of the Great Lakes – coverage not achieved since 1994, when ice spanned over 90 percent. In addition to this year, ice has covered more than 80 percent of the lakes in only five other years since 1973. The average annual maximum ice extent in that time period is just over 50 percent. The smallest maximum ice cover occurred in 2002, when only 9.5 percent of the lakes froze over

It'll be that Globular Warming wot done it

Good Old Hadley CRU only 2 months gone and there it is 2014.

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/gra...raph_ylybars_uptodate.gif

We all now know what happens to the green bar as we progress through the year

It tends towards 0

Dear World we have had a relatively mild winter, very few frosty mornings, while the rest of the NH World has frozen through a terrible winter.

This I put down to the lack of Hurricanes in the North Atlantic last year which would normally extract large amounts of heat energy from the Sea. The source of our mild climate given our latitude. This also goes some way to explaining why our Islands have been ravaged by storm after storm ... the weather always repays it's debt

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/gra...raph_ylybars_uptodate.gif is, I think deliberately, deceitful.

The electricity will go off and crunching (and all the benefits afforded since the work of Faraday) will cease

There's now a certain inevitability about it

No

It's really true

It's just the entire Energy policy has been hijacked by anti CO2/Fossil fuel extremists

We sit on abundant resources that could power us into a more efficient and greener future

But we are about to miss out on all that

Our Government just got lucky with Winter 2013/4 while the rest of the World froze.

They are going to have to get lucky with the next as well

Why do you think we are being priced out of lighting and heating......

Northern Hemisphere Snow Cover Feb 2014

1,212,000 sq kms more than average

http://climate.rutgers.edu/snowcover/table_rankings.php?ui_set=1#namgnld

Perspective... the (extra) snow would cover the UK 5 times over

The Al "Nobel Peace Prize" Gore Challenge

Dear Mr Gore

Make all of that white stuff above disappear by this summer or admit you were being economical with the truth during your acceptance speech and return yours and the IPCC's Nobel Peace Prize Medals and Kroner so they can be given to someone who genuinely risks their life daily while working tirelessly towards Peace.

If your fearmongering end of the World prediction turns out to be the truth I promise to switch off all of my computers doing valuable research for scientific projects on behalf of the World Community Grid and others. Turn off The Global Thermometer. Stop driving my car Give up my job and go off grid to live as a hermit and you will never hear from me again.

Regards
Dave

"7 years from now"
