No plz, DO NOT. The client will take care of that, completely automagic and dkt will get his credit anyhow.

Obviously I missed the issue with the server, but when I got up this morning there were just a tremendous number of tasks waiting to be uploaded. When I went to the transfer page and retried one upload (on each computer) the uploads and downloads continued as normally. It did not look like "...The client will take care of that..."
----------------------------------------Sek, did you see that knreed said "You can now upload files."? Added comment about uploading. edit for typo [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 15, 2010 10:54:13 PM] |

Jack007 wrote, Strangly I have one computer that can't figure out which ones to run (the D3T2). It's skipping the ones due on the 22nd and doing the ones do on the 23rd... No idea why but I wont panic until the 20th or so. Theoretically they should be done long before then anyway. Same here! I have one machine that "thinks" it's overcommitted (it's not in reality) and it has suspended work in progress and started crunching WU's half way down the queue. The condition cleared itself at one point but when I checked again today, it was up to the same shenanigans again! It has work queued up due on the 21,22 and 23 so I just went in and suspended everything that's due on the 22 and 23. I'll leave it like that until either the overcommitted condition clears and/or all the WU's due on the 21 get crunched. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 15, 2010 11:35:50 PM] |

I was gonna do that to (suspend them) but then I won't be
----------------------------------------downloading new WUs during that time so I'll just watch and hope (I have like 30 partially done units on a quad HT) WHATEVER. I have one at 99.5 % for over a day, like what is it thinking??? but it has 6 days, i'm not worried yet... Just keep up the rain!!! it's WONDERFUL. I started a 1.6 ghz emachine on dengue, takes 5 hours for one unit but it's chugging them out ![]() ![]() |

I've seen a couple of them stop with less than 30 seconds to go. It certainly is a very strange calculation that's occurring.

anyone have any idea how many more WUs are left to be sent out? Based on Sekerob's note most of the WU haven't been returned yet, don't know if it is because people are stockpiling them or what.

don't know if it is because people are stockpiling them or what. From a few posts before yours there are obviously people stockpiling WUs. ![]() When the BOINC client starts panicking like they describe it is generally because the cache is too full and any change to the DCF can cause weird reactions. That's true at least for some versions with scheduling problems, and I am not sure that these problems have been completely cured in the most recent ones. |
