Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Another kilo post thread about to be born.

Had 3 crashing successively after 24 days without boot and the dreaded - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005) and exit -210. Done so and turned in several valids in again.

Crunch on.

Edit: Darn, there just showed 40MB of security updates for Windows 7... will have to boot again :(

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Even though I understand why it does this, it is still strange to see a situation where my buffer is full, then I finish a single 2:20 WU and then I am calling for 173640 seconds of work after that 1 WU recalcs the ttc for my work in the buffer.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I just hope my wingmen get to all the tasks in PV. I have 5 pages of DDDT2 pending.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

thought this was the rain thread not the wingman thread

oh well think my buckets have enough rain till 80% silver or so

hoping that CEP-2 and or the other new project shows up soon so i can have multiple easier badge hunting to do.

I hate the fact that cause of the # of WU's that we end up stockpileing like its the end of project grab for your last badge... while actually we are still at the start of this project.

curious... when this rainshower appeared there was a mention that there was currently only 5000 spots in the feeder for this project ... how many do the other projects have???

i am hopeing i can get silver before the rain stops but i dont want to over-stockpile and not get results back in time either.

as for waiting on wingman i do the solution that works best for me... i will adjust the WU's in my cache so i will crunch the ones that someone is already waiting on me for when i have time to check on it (commercial breaks while watching TV)

right now i have about 20 setup to run next spread over my 3 computers (5 processors) so once those complete i will almost instantly swap to valid on those.

defiantly hopping for CEP-2 for windows and the C4Cw projects to show up soon so i can have more targets instead of doing the rain bucket stockpiles to get better badges

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Well, I didnt' stockpile last couple times and I went months with almost nothing
(I blinked and missed the rain). But
that is all over with for now, as I have 3 of my 5 computers
working on Dengue. At least they were till the Betas barged
in and ran priority (woot might get a beta badge yet!)
Strangly I have one computer that can't figure out which ones
to run (the D3T2). It's skipping the ones due on the 22nd and
doing the ones do on the 23rd... No idea why but I wont panic
until the 20th or so. Theoretically they should be done long
before then anyway. I'm just happy to be crunching Dengue
finally (only partly for the badge, was real impressed with the
scientists updates and explanations on the first project)

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Not sure if this signals stockpiling or the weithing being really good at spreading the few hundred thousand tasks in the hopper. Only 32 thousand validated in first 3 days of splashing.

12th 4306
13th 13723
14th 18013

Maybe when knreed has run the 3/4 Sunday stats will we learn what's up with this.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I had a problem after midnight (PST) yesterday in which I couldn't get any tasks to upload or to report. This morning I went to all computers to do a retry of the uploads and I got a humongous amount of domnloads at the same time. I got all the completed tasks reported and have 115 with PV. I would ask that every one that can to check the status of their work and go to Transfers under BOINC to do a Retry Now for the first item to be uploaded in the list. Thank you.
