I plan to start us a new thread here a bit sooner that normal this time around. I will be modifying the latter part of our thread header. While I most definitely do NOT have the physique to play the bouncer, I'm not really being given a whole lot of choice. In all likelihood, if there is a problem with anyone's post, it will also violate at least one the forum rules here. I will be assertive about reporting such posts. I will not tolerate intolerance or disrespect. I'm not really being given any choice on that either. We are a global team so keep that in mind when you post. Try to encourage global participation here, not drive it away. Here's the present draft of the end of our thread header: The Fine Print/Disclaimers/Et cetera: That last sentence above doesn't apply to just members of MyOnlineTeam. We welcome postings here from our fellow crunchers on other teams or on no team at all. We simply ask that you follow the rules for forum posts here at WCG. There are no topics that are we do not allow here, again, as long as they comply with the forum rules. However, the primary purpose of this thread is to recruit new members and to enable communications with and among current members, As much as we would like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and be able to work with you offline if there happened to be a problem or question with a post you made, that sort of communication just isn't possible here at WCG. If we can't do that for everyone, it is not fair to do it for anyone. Thus, any post that we believe violates the forum rules will be reported to the WCG administrators and any decisions or actions will be up to them. This will be true no matter who made the post, member or not. As captain, I also reserve the right to address a problem post publicly. After all, it was posted publicly. If you think there is a problem with a post, do NOT quote it in your reply. If you do, you are equally guilty of any forum rules violation and subject to the same consequences. If you feel you are being attacked in a post, do not respond in kind, if at all. We all have a responsibility to report any posts the we believe violate the forum rules. That is the proper response. No matter how stongly you may disagree with the content of another post, you are expected to repect the poster. While I do not monitor any member's behavior in other threads here, I will equally act on posts that come to my attention. Each of us is entitled to our opinions but your behavior here reflects not just you but on MyOnlineTeam as well. This is not your bully pulpit. I reserve the right to expel from the team any member who cannot comply with this. We each have our passionate causes. The one to be pursued here is our crunching. There are better, more appropriate places for other causes. We are quite a diverse group needless to say and we have very different, sometimes passionate, viewpoints on many issues. However, when it comes to our work here, we are united and of one voice. We work to do our part in the fight against disease, in working togther for the benefit of our fellow humans. Input and feedback from everyone is welcome. I may well tweak it some more. I am taking you up on your offer, as a non-MOT WCG member. I took the liberty of revising your disclosure language WHILE trying to keep the spirt and meaning of what you are trying to communicate to others. I am just trying to help with your situation and not attempting any harm. "We welcome you to our forum. We encourage respectful postings here from all our fellow WCG crunchers, including those on other teams or who do not belong on a team. We simply ask that you follow the rules for WCG forum posts. There are no topics that are we do not allow here, providing they comply with WCG forum rules. The primary purpose of this thread is to recruit new members, enable communications with and among current WCG members, and engage in open, free and respectful communications with WCG community members. While we welcome and strive for open and honest communication, we cannot tolerate inappropriate comments regarding other WCG members or their opinions. Any postings by any WCG member on our thread is subject to our and WCG administrators review, and we reserve the right to report inappropriate comment(s) to WCG administrators for appropriate action, if any. Please do not quote inappropriate comments as your posting will be deemed inappropriate and action may taken against you for disseminating such comment(s). You are free to report any offensive comments to WCG administrator or refer your opinion to the team’s captain to address any egregious posting(s) or topics. Any other action on your part is not tolerated or acceptable. Team members are subject to expulsion by the team’s captain whose postings do not comply with WCG or MyOnlineTeam "MOT" standards. As a reminder, while we celebrate diversity we are united and of one voice to do our part in the fight against disease, in working together for the benefit of our fellow humans." Feel free to amend, change or ignore this posting as you see fit. Hope this helps. Good luck to all of you. Ray Ray, I LOVE this!!!! I just saw this. To all of the people that want to come and live in this country, but can't figure out how to get here illegally, just walk across the border - duh!!!! I just hope that people remember to respect our country as well. This country is what is powering the very thing we are trying to accomplish. IBM?!? I think this makes me mad, but I haven't decided yet. I don't agree with the statement, though, so I must be in the wrong place. Oh yeah, and our president is an idiot... You either stand up for something, or you stand for nothing. I'm going to go find another team... Later.

You either stand up for something, or you stand for nothing. I'm going to go find another team... Later. That is your right. I respect your decision and wish you well. I will welcome you back any time you want to return. I was and am willing to not limit the topics discussed here. I did not have a problem with the topic nor the views expressed. The problem as I saw it was the personal attacks, insults, derision and disrespect. When I asked that the discussion be halted in order to bring such behavior to a halt, I was ignored by multiple individuals. I regret that I have to add such text as I proposed here. Ray expressed it so much better than I did and I am grateful to him for that. Here, MOT is about our crunching first and foremost. The multiple occurrances of these problematic behaviors have forced this change upon this team and threatened our objective here. As Captain, I stand for doing what I must so that we as a team can do our part to bring an end to folks burying loved ones they have lost to incurable diseases. |
