Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Johannes’ talk at the 46th Symposium on Theoretical Chemistry in Muenster (Germany) in September was mentioned in the ‘Info Theoretische Chemie’, the biannual Newsletter of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Theoretische Chemie (the German Association of theoretical chemists).

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We just finished the creation of the next 2.7 million workunits biggrin. They are currently being prepared for upload to IBM which will take another few days.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We have written a discussion about our workunit strategy and the 12h time-limit, which some of you may find interesting.

I have a large number of Infiniband connected nodes that I would love to donate some time on as a "Complementary Resource" to get them utilized to their full capability in their spare time. Clean energy is clearly a top priority for us. Obviously not practical through Boinc, but where there's a will, there's a way.

BTW, I love the name of the storage server, did I read Ms Piggy?!? Keep up the good work....

Cheers!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Dear MrKermit,

that sounds very tempting. We have a couple of immediate things to sort out in the project but we should be in touch about this early next year! Thanks so much for the offer!

We thought you'd like our storage array - she is quite a racy porker biggrin.

Cheerio

Your Harvard CEP team

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Our friends at IBM found a small glitch in the recently improved upload protocol which resulted in larger result files being blocked on our servers. Thanks to the Harvard Research Computing team for the quick fix and let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything now works as it should.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

A few days ago, Roberto pitched CEP2 to visitors from ARPA-E (the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy). The visit was under the theme ‘A New Paradigm in Transformational Energy Research’. Let’s hope that we could make a good impression ;).

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We got an extension of our NERSC Magellan Cloud account until 10/2011. Magellan is another auxiliary computing source for CEP2 and we are very happy that we can use it for another year.

The Harvard CEP team wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season! We hope you give your computers plenty of times to idle... and crunch CEP2 laughing.
