Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Yesterday, Roberto presented his Fieser Award Lecture titled "Finding Donor Polymer Materials for Organic Photovoltaics One Screensaver at a Time". Great job, Roberto!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

There is a seminar at MIT today organized by the Center for Excitonics. It is given by Garry Rumbles who holds positions at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the University of Colorado. The title of his talk is ‘Comparing the Primary Electron Transfer Process in Organic Photovoltaic Heterojunctions with Photosynthetic Reaction Centers’. Very interesting science!

On his trip to the West Coast, Johannes is also meeting with the Bao Group at Stanford. They are our primary experimental collaborators. It is always good to discuss science face to face, in particular when the perspectives of theoreticians and practicians come together.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We forgot to explain: GCEP stands for ‘Global Climate and Energy Project’ and is a Stanford based research initiative that ‘seeks new solutions to one of the grand challenges of this century’. The current 7th symposium is titled ‘Addressing the Changing Energy Landscape’. GCEP is one of our project sponsors and we are hence happy to be represented at this interesting meeting. And we obviously used to opportunity to make a lot of advertisement for the World Community Grid biggrin .
