UK team Stats Report December 2012

December was pretty good with a fairly consistent level of crunching throughout, but at 0:298:23:27:18 fell just short of being our best month ever. That distinction remains with October 0:299:04:40:21

UK Team Rankings
Team members ranked for each of RT, Pts, Res for AllTime and 2012. (Sorted by AllTime RT)
"Inact12" has been introduced as a status marker to indicate a member who has become inactive at some point in 2012 prior to 1st December. "InAct." now refers to members last active prior to 1st January 2012.
Standout performance from Soong who only joined the team 4th October but has reached #8 and #5 (Alltime)and #3 and #2 (2012)in the Points and Results rankings!

2012 Monthly
Monthly performance by member. Ranking +/- is derived from AllTime ranking in the Team at Jan 1st, movement for each month and totalled for the Year todate. December was notable for 91 members being active in the month, the highest total of the year.

Membership
Alltime Members 538 (Sep 534); Current Members 453 (Sep 449).
datahelp, isandunk, hippidy, and endellion all joined during the month, though hippidy is classed DOA - no crunching since sign-up 15 days ago.
4 members who had become InActive during 2012 resumed crunching: scorpiusdiamond, gilesk, Stuart F and bzsmith.
jdtayloruk, Colin55, sqdale and Jeff Towers last crunched in October and join the InActive12 list.
jdtayloruk crunched only 6hrs having been InActive since pre 2012.

Targets (as at 07-Jan)
Current UK team rankings: RunTime #83, Points #75, Results #69. Back in August (before the advent of GPU) I predicted #87, #80, #76 so the team has out-performed my expectations.
Being the start of a New Year I'll predict RunTime #67, Points #54, Results #56. by the end of 2013!

Threats
Approximately 30 possible Threats to the UK ranking are perceived for the next year.
Valid Threats - 9 (Oct 8) - are in bold.
Only 3 of the valid threats are likely to be of immediate concern:
Crunching@EVGA have passed us in the Points rankings and together with Austin Grid Team are a medium term threat to our Results ranking.

Global 5000 ranking
Mike D Green gained his final Global5000 ranking (RunTime ) New member datahelp also joined the contenders with a medium term chance of gaining entry into Results but seems to have become InActive.
Several longstanding Global5000 members are losing ranking places, particularly since GPU started, with CONNIE at short to medium term risk of losing out in Points and Results .

Project Stats.
The UK team's crunching by Project as at 31 Dec, Nov 30, Oct 31(AllTime) and for Dec, Nov, and Oct.
HCC continues to dominate in all respects. The launch of a new target for CfCW has proved popular in the early days of January (not shown).

Historical
UK team performance by month (2012) and by year since the team's inception - totals and per Calendar Day Average. The Average RT per cd for December finished at 0:298:23:27:18 (November 0:280:22:43:14). Annoyingly we were 7 days RunTime short of it being our best ever month.
We've started January strongly with the 7day Average currently 309.8 . The immediate challenge is to maintain that average above 300 throughout the month and then to grow it towards 365 i.e. crunching a year's RunTime in a one day!

Global, GB and UK team. Note that I use GB instead of WCG's UK, to denote geographical location, to avoid confusion with the UK team. Global Rankings are now shown for all members, together with month on month movement. GB rankings (shown on SNURK Globe sigs as UK) have a qualifying threshold of: RT 0:093:08:56:03; Pts 112,427; Res 294.
GB Rankings shown as N/A occur because either the member has crunched below the threshold for inclusion or because they are not identified as GB on the WCG database.

Personal Bests
Introduced as a new feature for my daily posts in the forum thread, these are the baselines against which new Personal Bests (PBs) are assessed.
As previously noted I only have detailed individual records for RunTime from late July and Points and Results from September.
