 I hate to see grown, hardworking men cry, GeraldRube.Noone has taken your gun. Why must you always declare your great nation dysfunctional? Of course, all is not perfect. But you have your constitutional right to Express Yourselves Freely. That is considerably more than they have in most of Planet Earth's nations. You are not dominated to a larger degree than you yourself allow.  So, why don't you make your argument for eliminating the problem leading to the initiatives which you think are eliminating your freedom? - that was complicated - hope I make myself clear here  |

We also have the right to bear arms. (meaning we can own guns, we don't actually go out and cut off the arms of bears... usually) There are, however, those who would like to see that right go away. They tend to be rather vocal, which makes them seem more numerous than they actually are.
But the issue is more complicated than simply guns or no guns. Some only want to ban certain guns, while others think banning certain guns is a good start. Still others just want to make sure nobody ever actually carries said guns on their person anywhere. Now me, I think back to the men that penned the Bill of Rights. These men were revolutionaries, to them the idea of bearing arms would mean far far more than hunting deer in the woods. |

So how do you revoke the gun license and confiscate the gun just before someone loses it?
Fox News just now: Six Dead in Roller Rink Shooting Published : Saturday, 23 Jul 2011, 9:36 PM CDT GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Six people are dead and four wounded after a gunman opened fire at a skating rink in Grand Prairie. Police say the shooting happened around 7 p.m. at the Forum Roller World in the 1900 block of South Great Southwest Parkway. Investigator says a family gathering was being held at the rink when an fight broke out and the gunman opened fire on the crowd. Five people were shot and killed. Four others were wounded and taken to area hospitals. Police say the gunman was shot in the head. He later died at a local hospital. Sources tell FOX 4 the gunman shot himself. It's not clear what his connection is to the family. Police say the fight stemmed from a domestic argument between a husband and wife. The names and ages of the victims have not been released. |
