Re: Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 - 18 days left of new work

Any signal of project conclusion?
I think the only signal so far, is that WU's are becoming harder to find...

They seem to be easier than ever to find for me, half of the WU's I've been getting lately are HCMD

same for me and it's why new comers can win badges as big crunchers have left to others projects but as i celebrate my ruby i hope all the members of Decrypthon team (with others) stick to HCMD2 till the end to let the scientifics with the hard work for a cure.

Re: Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 - 18 days left of new work

One of the reasons for being able to fetch some HCMD2 WUs is that Boinc did not manage very well effort estimation and computing priority.
Yesterday evening, I had to abort at least 50 WUs by my hosts, since they would not be able to return the results on-time.
I suppose that I am not the only one experiencing such troubles currently. With a 6-core host, the waiting list can vary from 30 until to 270 days within few hours. Additionally boinc sets some WUs with high priority although they should be returned within a couple of day and put on-hold WUs which are close to the dead-line.
Happy crunching,
Yves

Zigfried, as far as I know, they're still going out (although they may now be getting scarcer/more difficult to catch).

I certainly haven't seen any comments stating that there's no more left...

Re: Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 - 18 days left of new work

Last 10 days validated result history and mean runtime per task:

JUL.20-12 74,183 3.47303
JUL.21-12 84,966 3.48371
JUL.22-12 84,257 3.51478
JUL.23-12 87,895 3.39470
JUL.24-12 76,135 3.39725
JUL.25-12 87,299 3.41259
JUL.26-12 79,486 3.45271
JUL.27-12 78,540 3.40755
JUL.28-12 75,350 3.41162
JUL.29-12 75,379 3.46464

Since resume to crunch the 2500-2544 batches, we've gone 60 days and 4,136,544 tasks that were approved. Does not seem there is a tail off hinted at in the average run times [albeit, no idea if there's lots of children, or if the domination is slow taken over by grand children etc.]

I am still getting tasks from time to time.

While i already have sapphire, i have checked it ON in all my profiles to speedup end of this Phase and free resources for more interesting projects!

For anecdotal evidence, I haven't seen any grand children, and the highest child batch I've seen is 2516. In my observations, it seems we crunched parents from batches 2500-2544, and are now crunching the children for all batches 2500-2544.
