 Good Morning MOT Good to hear Dr. Mike is doing OK; sorry he is not currently participating here but hopefully.... Probably a lot cooler than the rest of us. I remember a tongue-in-cheek-travel ad about N Dakota I heard while I was in S. Dakota. It said something to the effect "Come Visit N. Dakota and see our newly completed Mountain Removal Project results". Boss is better, and not in any danger. Keith.. You progressing as expected? RT, great news about your better half! These days, anything that has you in the hospital overnight is usually serious, even if it's just for testing. So many things that were really bad news a decade or two ago are now chronic conditions that can be managed. When you're the one affected, it's a good bit easier to truly appreciate that progress. As for me, I appear to be progressing well. Still a tad bit of swelling left but it's not bad at all. I can sit normally on a hard surface. Getting the staples out today helped with that too. I finally grabbed a mirror a couple of days ago and took a close look for myself. I had gone into the surgery thinking the incision would be linear running from the scrotum to the anus. Afterwards, while tending to where my drain was, I concluded that it actually forked like a Y in the back. With the mirror, I realized that it was in fact U-shaped. Made sense to me as that basically gives them a flap to fold back and the prostate's right there in front of them. The perineal approach had already seemed the most sensible way to approach it with the lowest risk for collateral damage. This just reinforced that view. I'm quite pleased with my urologist. |
