vaio...point taken, though that doesn't necessarilly make linux a bad thing. edit: at least not in itself...maybe for the customers, but the finger then should be pointed at the company...

Hi Mousie
----------------------------------------Bill will have it all sewn up with the arrival of Longhorn (Vista) We're all using Word Excel Powerpoint Visio Exchange Outlook, our Servers are Win2K and Win2K3, MS SQL server is where all the databases live these days .NET is going to be the defacto Internet and application development environment with C# and IIS will deliver it. Streaming media is going the way of WMA rather than realmedia. They even have the cheek to provide us with an AntiSpyware solution for free!!!! Windows Live Communications server will be the next big thing with us all hooked up going RU There? and working on the above mentioned Word Excel Powerpoint and Visio's together across the globe. And all along folk were worried about their browser!!! I write this defiently in Firefox ![]() I've just checked out all of the info above in Encarta ![]() ![]() Dave ![]() ![]() |

It doesn't...........but I don't see Gatesy holding a gun to anyone's head.
People vote ewith their wallets. Also, so many distros.....too many.....for a layman it is too confusing. |

I was a sun tech back when the internet was still all ascii. I also was the 32 employee of the very first PC Cad system. I can tell you emphatically they best product does not normally win, it's the best marketing company.
I now don't care who has the best product. I care who can get me the most work and that is always the front runner. Take it from me, backing the best (I did it for 15 years.) just gets you a bloody nose from all the doors being shut in your face. Backing the most popular gets you the work. |

What you fail to realize Miss Mousie is that you are part of an elite group who actually uses their computer..The average person turns on their computer, checks their email, checks the news, and plays a couple of games of solitaire...As long as the computer turns on and runs then their day is complete and then are unwilling to change since that has become the norm for them...Hate Bill all you like but the man is not stupid...He made windows part of everyday life and he also knows that people do not like to change something that is working (as far as they can tell)...Rant completed....
