Re: TEAM Vulture Central III

Yea, Only 3 hrs after starting with it. cool

Several have started to wonder why it didn't go through the beta test. crying I'm not pleased with the 7 day cancer penalty either. Points dumped if turned in later than a week after each batch is finished. Rosetta's the same way over there now.

I'm gon'na leave my crunchers right here....things are smooth...except for a couple of the cheapies crashing..

Re: TEAM Vulture Central III

As far as here goes....only 6 returned results yesterday. Some of the oldies seem to be dropping off, or pooping out, as we say in the vulture world.

If I read into Robbies post about the time-out correctly, the 7 day limit is 7 days more than we were getting before. Yea, all my systems will be staying here as well. I'm starting to think they made a mistake not putting the new data through beta as well.

They didn't used to have any day limits for the end of the batch. That's something new. Delayed material was sent in, and points were always given for crunching effort. UDMonitor saved their butt several times....with stuff running over the blackout times, and sent in later to help the results count. Folks can't do much of that at grid.org any more. Too bad.

(I don't want to say too much of that kind of stuff here, since it doesn't relate. The grid.org outage thread at thedczone.com would probably be a better place.)

Re: TEAM Vulture Central III

I'm still waiting for the what I call "turbo" fan to kick in on the notebook I'm running. It's small, LOUD, and moves a buttload of air. Kicks in when the CPU clears 65c. So, until I hear that one I'll leave that machine crunching too. biggrin
Don't want to cook it... Cost too much $$$$ to buy it.

I think WCG has a throttling thingy if it ever becomes a problem. It'll let you cut back the WCG percentage.

Are you WCG's official duster-outer? Maybe it'll even help MY computer run faster if you clean up WCG. cool

Don't tell me that is another 'elective' post we have to organise a campaign for. Can I put myself forward for Vulture Central III 'Official Campaign Manager' wink. I had a lot of fun poolling all data for the posting last night. Took me back to my Shop Steward days!
With 7 fans running in my pc case, all filtered, dusting inlet vents and cleaning filters is a full time job, if you fancy taking it on fing? Complaints about dust volumes should be addressed to 'Ralph', our collie/cross, who is responsible for most of it! Living in countryside is not all good. sad
