10 days of new work remaining for GFAM

Based on current estimates, there are now approximately 10 days of new work remaining for the GFAM project. Once all new work has been sent out for the project, only resend work units will be available (work units not previously computed correctly or on time). The last new work unit for GFAM will be GFAM_x3LLT_PfLammer_w5WATs_0116485_0103.

Thank you to all who have donated their CPU time to this project.

Re: 10 days of new work remaining for GFAM

hmmm, that's even 2 days less than the last dashboard showed... There's that rush of buffering of course [need 18 days continues crunching on all cylinders to reach target, so guess I'm one of them and do not feel in the least perturbed about it]

[OT] Just notice on My Grid that HCMD2 was moved from intermittent to completed, scuttling any last fleeting hope for that one to get a teeny more crunch out of that one... but excellent for the scientists and now makes the completed projects and phases a total of 13... 68 to go, 57 shortlysmile ][/OT]

Yes, thanks for the official countdown.

Although it's good to see projects finish, I much prefer to see them finishing up by way of 'no more calculations to perform" as opposed to "unfortunately, we can't afford to continue". I just hope (as with HPF2), that some money will be forthcoming in future budgets so as to allow this work to complete naturally.

Seippel... thanks for the update. I'm gunning for emerald. Yesterday, I crossed the 300 day barrier, which means that I still have 65 days to crunch. I too, will have to buffer up if I'm going to make it that green shinny badge.

We will be sending an eblast and posting a news and update post about all the changes early next week. We finally have all data to the researchers and verified that the project is complete so we felt we could finally make HCMD2 closed.

Falconet, the "ending soon" in project selection was added on Friday. As projects wrap up, this will help members decide which projects they want to contribute to.
