@gomeyer - One key item to note in the log is this line "Result.out = 10479053.000000" The application is designed to exit when it predicates that the result output file is going to exceed approx 10MB. 10MB = 10,485,760 bytes (Result.out is reported in bytes). This means that the mechanism to prevent extremely large result files from being generated took affect and exited the task with information about what happened for the researchers to examine.

Interesting. Will look for that if it happens again. Thanks Kevin.
BTW, I've received about two dozen v7.24 wus so far and all are running very smoothly on all platforms. Looks very good from here.

Re: New Beta Test starting Nov 6, 2013 v7.24 [ Issues Thread ]

I believe this has been previously reported and not a significant issue but I suspended one of the new WU`s just after it had done a checkpoint, when it resumed, elapsed time correct but Progress was reset from 42% complete back to .5% complete, stuck there for about 15 minutes then bumped to 40% and seems to be tracking fine now.

Re: New Beta Test starting Nov 6, 2013 v7.24 [ Issues Thread ]

Got one of the 7.24. It reached 3hrs 11mins and 88%. Suspend and restart worked fine.
When I closed and restarted the BOINC client (6.10.58 from here), elapsed time dropped to just under 3hrs with 0.5% progress. After approx 3mins progress leapt to 79% and appears to be progressing fine with times and progress % as expected.

This is expected. For each work unit, there is some initialization that occurs at the start of processing. That initialization also occurs when a work unit is restarted but before the checkpoint (and percent complete) is restored. In most cases, this initialization should be relatively quick (only a couple of minutes), but given the wide variation in work unit types, some outlying cases may take a bit longer to restore the percent complete.
