Since I have recently learned the following information from WCG there is no calculable end date. However I will still attempt to track the progress as it occurs. A big thanks to the WCG staff for making this available. I have decided to leave the original quote in for the time being as it still addresses the question of additional work. In the recent past an additional estimate of 4000 more batches were added.
----------------------------------------Recently another estimated 5,000 batches were added to the project. We are not able to say the exact number of additional batches that will be added in the future, but we are fully expecting to receive more work units for the Mapping Cancer Markers project. The researchers will turn to other cancer-type work units when the current ones near completion. Last 30 day average results:531,721Percentage Complete:Currently listed on the Research page:92%. The average length of a WU is currently running about 4.13 hours, slightly shorter than the last time I posted, but continuing to trend steady at just less than the 4.20 hour mark consistently. The average length of a work unit this past week varied between 4.05 and 4.16 hours. This continues to be remarkably steady. Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number.My latest batch number was 1333248 which would give about 154 batches for the week. The batch counts for the past weeks have varied between 179 and 196. Production increased this past week going from about 3.4 million WU's to 3.6 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just slightly over an average of 243 years per day, down somewhat during the past few weeks. Originally we had 17,500 batches plus 9000 more batches, plus 5000 more batches (all approximate) for a total of 31,500 batches. Now we have an estimated 4000 more batches for a total of 35,500 batches. At 10,000 work units per batch, this would be 355,000,000 work units (double redundancy), so total of 710,000,000 work units. As of today(May 28)we have processed 664,333,376. This would be about 93.5% of the known batches. Based on the 30 day running average the current work units should last to about August 21, 2017. This not an end of project projection, just a projection of a probable end of the currently known work units.  Sorry about the long wait - too many irons in the fire. Cheers

Thanks for the amazing updates, Sgt Joe. Hopefully before we run out of wus, the scientists and admin will let us know if there is more work coming.

As of today(June 4)we have processed 667,709,969. This would be about 94% of the known batches. Based on the 30 day running average the current work units should last to about August 17, 2017. MCM got into competition from 04.06. to 30.06., so we might have some speed up for ECD...more info here:
