Re: New website design!!!

Not sure if this has been mentioned.

If you click on My Contribution; Results Status; the completed WU in the Result Name column, it still has the old logo.

Re: New website design!!!

I like the new look. The old design never appealed to me so I think it is a definite improvement. Well done.

Re: New website design!!!

More attractive ,more flashy the new design breaks monotony
and with so many remarks from the users i hope better efficiency
will follow , more scientists will use WCG to help their research
more crunchers be added.Who never tries never gains.

Re: New website design!!!

My first impression was good. However, I found a big problem.

The font used in the pulldown menu on the Result Status page is too small for aged people like me. Actually, I can not even read them.

I strongly request to make the pulldown menu much more easy to read. the previouce style is enouph.

Please do not ignore the crunchers above 50s.

Thank you. Kiyo.

Re: New website design!!!

At this time the most glaring for me is the wayward font sizes on the tablet, changing from post to post, even within posts between quoted text and comment. Big, micro, normal size, you name it. The second is the absent formatting on the result page work unit quorum detail. On one firefox the font in there even changes in size from row to row and field to field. The old logo overhead was already mentioned, but that's the least of the issues. Oh yes, wcgdaws is not able to pull new data. As soon as hitting update the app responds as not having logged in.

Post writing on the tablet is a disaster, but already was the case before the update. All java scripted? Oddly any item that is a hyperlink on the tablet shows a significantly darker blueish font. On the pc no change at all, so maybe there is a http://m.worldcommunitygrid.org deferral happening in the background to make things better fit. Big graphics and sigs undoes that thoroughly on the width restricted frame we now have.

Looking for a firefox addin facilitating auto window sizing depending on active tab/site. Already use some to remember a font scale. Set windows on the pc to 110% for wcg. Now it needs to size the window down to 1200 or so on the wide screen display. Of course if that would kick on the 1920 pixel seven inch tablet everything will really become miniscule.

Re: New website design!!!

Is that IBM blue? (I'm looking at the logo at the bottom with the user names in blue). I like the blue actually, and the design. I have a 27" monitor and I make WCG fill it so I dont care about font size. biggrin One thing I appreciate very much is that stuff still seems to be in the same places. My age related problem is that I hate learning a new system that moves everything around just to be different. Thank you for NOT doing this !!!

PS: Snurk if your reading this, don't change the logo in your sig for old times sake, TY!

Re: New website design!!!

Result Status - Pop out window for individual WU result

In addition to the lack of an updated format noted in earlier posts I have one for an MCM1 WU where both me and wingman are marked Pending Validation.

I would normally expect to see a green(?) shaded button "Try Validation". This is not visible.

Re: New website design!!!

Could be the big blue hue. Thought first it was the twilight app that caused the perception, lowering brightness in evening / night and putting a red room sphere on things, but it's off now. On the tablet, scrolling down, yes close resemblance with the logo color, and of course the earlier noted copyright owner change of the forum software. We're stuck with it for sure, but wcg now having free reign to customize fully. Like the 3D box at top which on home page is filled out with the project graphics. Otherwise has is the twenties designer trend, a flatter feel to it all. Was that apple or ms starting this?

Next up adding/replacing forum smilies which are really clunky, so previous century. Post voting, only up of course, and a thumbs up / down smiley and the headshaker of course, animated ideally.

Nice idea but I think it comes under the heading of upgrading the forum software, which is a dead duck as far as WCG is concerned. sad

Re: New website design!!!

For the observant, the home page project info screens show near real time counts of returned results for the day. Is this a hint at a near real time "my contributions", with a snapshot noon/midnight page for team/member rankings? In our next life maybe. smile
