Graphics Not Working For Ubuntu.

Hi.

On both my rigs the graphics don't work just for this project, when I click the show graphics button I get a window frame that flicks on for a second then it disappears & that's it.

One rig is running 12.04lts x32 the other is 14.04lts x64, I'm not having any problems with other projects on here. confused

I'm sure it worked before so I don't know what changed. ( many be when the app got updated ) I haven't looked at the graphics for a while.

Any one else seeing this. ( Linux / Ubuntu )

thanks.

Re: Graphics Not Working For Ubuntu.

Same for me, just a flash on both Lubuntu 12.04 LTS and 14.04 LTS, both 64bit.

I rarely look at graphics so unsure if ever worked.

Re: Graphics Not Working For Ubuntu.

I'm able to see the MCM1 graphics via the 'show graphics' button here, so I suspect it's something like a missing library. There is a log of stderr for the graphics application in the boinc data directory under:
slots/#/stderrgfx.txt (where # is the number of the job you attempted to use the 'show graphics' button against.)

The last 10-15 lines should give a good idea of why it's exiting prematurely.

No stderrgfx.txt found in either slots directory I tried on Lubuntu 14.04 LTS.
Stopped BOINC, re-booted and tried gfx again but still no file.
Also checked boinc-client directory.

PMH_UK/P . P . L . ,

If it's not creating the stderrgfx.txt file, it's not getting very far in the process. What version of boinc are you using? Also, can you check if the 'show graphics' button works for CEP2, FAAH and FAHV?

Re: Graphics Not Working For Ubuntu.

Seippel,

BOINC is 7.0.27(x86) from repository on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and 7.0.24(x86) on 12.04 LTS.

I'm only doing MCM currently, will try others but busy this week.

Re: Graphics Not Working For Ubuntu.

Hi.

I've got 7.0.27 on Ubuntu 12.04lts 32bit.

And 7.2.42 on Ubuntu 14.04lts 64bit, with the 32bit libs installed.

Both came form repository.

Yes I've tried the graphics on faah & cep both work fine.

Re: Graphics Not Working For Ubuntu.

PPL,

Can you check if you get the stderrgfx.txt file in the slots directory when you start the graphics for either faah or cep2?
