PPL, Try: $cd MCMGFX $chmod 755 gfx_graphics_9.9_i686-pc-linux-gnu $./gfx_graphics_9.9_i686-pc-linux-gnu Seippel Hi. Tried that, got this. bash: ./gfx_graphics_9.9_i686-pc-linux-gnu: cannot execute binary file Would using gksudo work or not needed? Edit1 / Tried gksudo [ out of interest ] didn't seem to do anything apart from asking for password. Edit2 / This is on the 12.04lts x32 + boinc 7.0.27. Maybe sisyphus reaches the top through a detach / add wcg project. That will, at least with latest clients, not 7.0.27, truly delete anything in the wcg project folder and redownload a fresh copy, hopefully with proper executable flags. Reset wcg will do half the job, but you could try.

My rigs were installed at different times months apart, plus it's not just me I'm sure there are others out there like PMH_UK [ Others might be to lazy to look! ] ![]() Don't think it'll make a difference thou, might have to be a last ditch thing to try. Edit1 / Tried gksudo [ out of interest ] didn't seem to do anything apart from asking for password. Did it create a stderrgfx.txt file or generate an error? The lack of error sounds like it ran, but didn't generate any output. Usually you'd get either stderr in the terminal window or in the stderrgfx.txt if it got far enough. Seippel |

Seippel Nothing in the terminal window, I didn't check for stderrgfx.txt when I didn't see anything sorry. Edit1 / just to be clear do you want me to try again with gksudo in front of it like this again. $gksudo 755 gfx_graphics_9.9_i686-pc-linux-gnu $./gfx_graphics_9.9_i686-pc-linux-gnu Then check in the MCMGFX folder for the txt file. Edit2 / just now checked the MCMGFX folder only the app in there. [Edit 4 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 16, 2014 8:09:07 AM] |

Hi.
----------------------------------------Just to double check I let both rigs to load AIDS tasks, to make sure this problem was just with MCM tasks and it wasn't something that had just started after some updates to Ubuntu. So far the 12.04lts rig has run both types of aids apps / faah 7.16 / fahv 7.20, and the graphics are working 100% as well as the CEP app. Edit 1 / Just came home & checked the other rig with 14.04lts & both AIDs apps graphics are 100% perfect on it to. Ideas. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 18, 2014 3:42:08 AM] |

Since there's no progress on this I'm going to try a reset & reattach to see if that fix's this problem, once I run out of tasks.
I'll let you know what happens. |

Did the reset it downloaded the new copies of apps & graphics and it did not make any difference with MCM tasks running graphics window frame just flashers for less then a second then is gone.
I think it must be a dependency issue for just those graphics for some reason, is there something special that is needed for it. ![]() |

That has been my past experience, first time a blip, then after nothing at all. Look in memory if something is stuck there.
Mcm is different in that it is the only science using symlinking to the project folder, meaning does not matter how many concurrent tasks running, there's really only one of the various permanent files on disk. Would save a bunch of space and probably improve speed if this was applied to cep2. |

PPL,
I believe this is a boinc client issue/permissions issue. As a work around, running the boinc manager as the boinc user (or root) should allow you to see the graphics. From a terminal window: sudo -u boinc /usr/bin/boincmgr or sudo /usr/bin/boincmgr Seippel |
