In your May, 2014, website progress update you mention you had completed the initial design meetings for porting the MCM code to GPUs. How is that going?

Research > mcm > project website > progress reports > may 2014 update

10. Technical updates:
We have completed the initial design meetings for porting the MCM
code to GPUs. On the analytics side, we have been evaluating the
use of IBM's InfoSphere Streams package to aid with post-processing of
MCM results.

It's curious that this update did not make it into the mcm news digest at https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/mcm1/news.do , ironclad procedures confused

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers project update, July 2014

If, indeed, there is talk of a GPU porting in progress, then that may make me consider what I was planning on doing when I'd reached 1.5 years (introducing CEP2 into my mix - whilst slowly rounding off my Sapphire MCM badge).

The last time GPU became involved in a project, I only just managed to reach my goal before the project was completed in record time. I don't want to be cutting it that fine again...

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers project update, July 2014

I am surprised to hear about the idea (implementation) of a GPU porting in this Project.
Is it worth it? Since the project is no longer run as long is (about a maximum of 1.5 years) !

I have no Problem this Projekt to soon as possible to end.

My goal in MCM is 10 years (I am less than 4 years ATM). It would be tough in case of introduction of GPU application, but I would be glad it will speed up the project dancing

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers project update, July 2014

I like the idea of anything to be able to speed up the project. I will be very interested to see what is the next update when ever that is.
