KLiK

WCG has 'history' with Facebook:

knreed Apr 14, 2011 7:16:05 PM
We were notified yesterday that an automated tool at Facebook had determined that our Facebook application was "spammy". They informed us that they permanently disabled our application. We appealed that action through their processes but our appeal was denied. We are currently evaluating our next steps.

Can we gather around & make a group on Facebook...demanding that the App (I really didn't know that it was deemed as spam, 'cause it just stopped posting on my FB) get back on FB?

Why didn't the initiative made here and demand from the users of WCG for the release of the App working?
Anybody interested in participating?

And why didn't IBM push that around the news? Press hold on the Facebook? or they just don't give a **** anymore?

Re: Retention of 'Long-Term' Crunchers.

Good Morning from Brazil people !

Despite of be a very intersting questions posted by Scribe and comented by many chunchers, I think that all ideas and opinions posted are valid.

WCG is a real diversity enviroment and appear be very hard align all crunchers in a single direction or opinion.

So, many opinions are valid, and appear be better because will reach more and more people and will engage more on that. Many aspects of motivations for all people appear be more interesting to continue recruit and get more people involved here, for short or long time of contributions.

I'm in WCG since it start years ago, and continue crunch for years without stop until now. Hard or no, I really have a drive and dream to participate with some kind of personal contribution that start researches to discover some drug to fight Cancer (mainly) and other diseases or problems.

While my energy bill continues in afordable level for my pocket, I will continue contributing a little bit on that. coffee peace good luck

cool Re: Retention of 'Long-Term' Crunchers.

Also, few years back I joined HERBALIFE...I just neaded a change in my Life, they provided it: educations, positive atmosphere, healthy nutrition, etc...but I'm not here to talk about business model or get somebody in! I'm here to crunch data & help othes...especially the ILL ones...

But what I noticed in their model is that HERBALIFE gives RECOGNITION to EVERY NEXT STEP that member makes...regardless what step it is: small or big ones - they are all big ones for the ones they make them!
That is shat will keep people IN...that is what will KEEP people crunch data...the RECOGNITIONS!

I know that all of you don't get recognition about the job you do in the morning...maybe this is a way to get YOUR RECOGNITION?

OK...make them work, PUBLICLY!
FB got us banned 'cause some "jelous people" about the results we had posted...we can complain, but we can also say "**** FACEBOOK!"

As I'm sollution oriented...I say: **** FACEBOOK!
Can the same APP be implemented on the TWEETER? Or GOOGLE+? Or any other social-network so we can say to our FRIENDS: "Look, this is what I do! Wanna join?"
cool

Re: Retention of 'Long-Term' Crunchers.

Not sure why Facebook banned the WCG app. I get like 100 requests to play some crappy game from the same person and app in 2 minutes. Other apps just post to your account like 100 times a day...

Re: Retention of 'Long-Term' Crunchers.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but wasn't the facebook app created by a former moderator who was dismissed in part for creating the app w/o authorization?
