Re: New Beta Test - Nov 27, 2014 [ Issues thread ]

I had one OET Wu that just completed:

BETA_ OET1_ 0000306_ xEBGP-F_ rig_ 1527_ 1-- Pavilion-dv7 Valid 12/2/14 07:14:12 12/3/14 10:07:56 8.09 / 8.09 146.5 / 125.5

It really acted odd when running:

1) It was stuck at 50% for extended periods of time.
2) When I restarted my computer, it restarted from scratch on elapsed time, % complete time.
3) Eventually I was able to complete it. If this is now the normal expected activities for these WUs, I'm wondering if my laptop and its sessions at night will be able to consistently run it completely in one session (like CEP2). I'll try some since it is now an official project, and see how things go.

Edit: 2 others from another Vista32 laptop will be damned after 86992 seconds runtime. Now at 60% after 23h50m.
24.164 hours, got 4 who're about to hit the limit. These could have been turning ruby into emerald. cool

Re: New Beta Test - Nov 27, 2014 [ Issues thread ]

This WU was stuck at 10% for several hours:
BETA_ OET1_ 0000307_ xEBGP-OM_ rig_ 0107_ 1--
Since my machine isn't running for extended periods of time, WUs that don't produce snapshots in reasonable intervals don't work for me :-(

Re: New Beta Test - Nov 27, 2014 [ Issues thread ]

For the last long running task on my Linux VM, there was some hope, but it was running too long:

16111 World Community Grid 03 Dec 12:58:39 Aborting task BETA_OET1_0000307_xEBGP-OM_rig_0502_1: exceeded elapsed time limit 100141.72 (294697.70G/2.94G)
16112 World Community Grid 03 Dec 12:58:40 Computation for task BETA_OET1_0000307_xEBGP-OM_rig_0502_1 finished
16113 World Community Grid 03 Dec 12:58:40 Output file BETA_OET1_0000307_xEBGP-OM_rig_0502_1_0 for task BETA_OET1_0000307_xEBGP-OM_rig_0502_1 absent

1 task on a Windows VM still running. Could make it. 90% now and 2 hours time before fpopsbound/fpops will reach the time limit (~30.5hrs).

So, running BETA_OET1_0000307_xEBGP-OM_rig_0856_0 and it's stuck at 40%. Time remaining just keeps going up. It stays still for 3~5 seconds, and then go up by 1 second. Run time is already at 21h 35min.

The specs are: Pentium 2180 running at stock 2000mhz; 2gb ddr2; windows XP SP3; Boinc Manager 7.2.47 (x86).

Re: New Beta Test - Nov 27, 2014 [ Issues thread ]

After last night's fiasco with 3 x 307 betas stuck on 0% with no time to completion etc, I have come to work today to find a 307 on my work PC - WU running is BETA_OET1_0000307_xEBGP-OM_rig_0323_2 - so far has Elapsed time of 13.5hrs to 30% and a projected To Completion of approaching 21 hrs and rising quite fast - so probably going to exceed the time limit. At this rate it will run Ok for another day at least. No checkpoints set.

UPDATE 4 DEC....
The WU is still cranking away - now up to 30hrs and 70% with a prediction of a further 13hrs to completion - what's the WU max time limit set to for these???

FURTHER UPDATE....
After 33 hours 27 mins the time ran out and it was aborted automatically....what a disappointment!!!

Uplinger - if you are going to send out single WU's with no check points in future, can you also wind up the time limit on them too, please? It's rather disheartening to either abort or have aborted units when the time is 'almost wasted'.... Thanks and lets crack the Ebola scourge!

Re: New Beta Test - Nov 27, 2014 [ Issues thread ]

I have 6 of these betas running with about 25 hours run time and about 5 hours to completion. I hope these are not bad units or not get credit for them as they are eating allot of time on my cruncher.

Re: New Beta Test - Nov 27, 2014 [ Issues thread ]

A lot of my units are committing sepuku - Maximum elapsed time exceeded
Funny thing is that after 20-30h of work they claim 17.1 points credit.

Re: New Beta Test - Nov 27, 2014 [ Issues thread ]

Just rebooted this cruncher and it reset the crunch time to zero but have 25 minutes to finish. Sucks having bad units waste precious crunch time. Will watch these closely and abort if I see something not quite right about them.

I received 65 of the 307 Beta WUs. The are slowly being returned with the error "Maximum elapsed time exceeded." Unfortunately they are now being resent to additional wingmen.
