The tank is dry & we are running on fumes now. It's done. Did anyone check the dipstick yet? That's it, everyone move on to the next project [and leave the resends to me]. ![]() Cheers ![]() I've checked the dipstick. I aborted a non-running energy job (because it will be 23 hours on my laptop, i prefer cancer job now - only 8 hours on my laptop, good for a day works) i was hoping to get another aids job or cancer job. nope, another energy job. so yeah, empty as empty goes. --edit-- with the jobs on still the list and those validating, I think I'll managed to hit 180, still scraping by 0:179:23:40:18 <--- so suspense ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by fablefox at Jun 13, 2015 3:21:48 AM] |

From initial looks. It appears that all new work has been sent. Only resend from now.
Thank you to everyone that has helped complete this project. Uplinger |

The project stood at midnight on 781,030,893 validated results. Interested to see how many more will come in till the 'last result validated' message comes through
Now will have to see if the buffer will carry My Contributions to the full 10, but fear it's going to fall 30 days short ... all in the game ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Odd, I thought the idea of Boinc having settings was that we could use those settings to get the best fit for the way we use our computers. Ethics and Morals ?? The term ethics derives from the Ancient Greek word ethikos, which is derived from the word ethos (habit, âcustomâ). It is "customary" among those of us with a greater interest in WCG to achieve the best possible output with our rigs. Are you saying it is morally wrong to want to achieve a target? Selfish to push this project to completion? What seems sad to me is your "Flat Earth" view and condescending attitude. Each to his own I say, especially as no one is harmed by any of this.... nor is the science at risk. and most certainly those who achieve their goals, maybe against the odds, will have that extra warm fuzzy feeling that helps to cement their commitment to WCG. Well done all who reach their Targets.... by whatever means. it is selfish to get most of the WUs, by using an obsolete BOINC client which enables you to cheat...& get as many WUs as you can! selfish from the perspective of people who do it...& selfish to other fellow cruncher! there is NO DOUBT about it! though I know some of you are are doing only 2 projects...I have similar problems with doing 2 projects, getting not enough WUs on some of my machines...but to fix that I added 3rd projects & everything works fine now! so WCG is deliberately configured not to give you enough jobs for only 1 project! So my opinion is to play by their rules! & if I was Admin within WCG...a serious discussion about abandoning all devices with versions prior to ver7 would be on a next meeting of board of directors! why? everyone gets equal chance & equal status here! & no hacking of BOINC is allowed! but, that's only me! ![]() |

You're right KLiK, I'm so selfish that I've rented 4 servers to achieve my badges ehmm baught my badges.
----------------------------------------And I'm more selfish in running 5 android devices with 28 cores and 2 additional linux computers only for boinc. Normally I don't have any use for all that additional stuff because my 12 core computer is more than sufficient for my daily use. So shame on me. ![]() |

For those who really want to excite the KliK's on this planet, the first versions, like 5.4.nn or so you could suspend received work and then it would not count towards the cache [unlike now where suspended work for a project blocks fetching], so you could buffer more and more. That 'feature' was removed. WCG has set a minimum client version. The interested may visit help... it's 5.4, because there's that encryption requirement that WCG has had from round about when BOINC was allowed on as agent
![]() The DC crunching guys wont be happy with that 'if I were [out loud dreaming]' as 5.10.45 is the last version that can install on domain controllers. A fix for that is in an uncertain future. Many have platforms that wont allow anything over 6.12, simply because there's no port. Yes, KliK my dear fellow, you're making vriends [or are you just enjoying the CTing of people?] Anyway, back on topic, for the hunt of the ![]() ![]() |

So shame on me. well using servers, does create some of problems as I've mentioned before 'cause of the 1 project use & 35 WU cache per core...I'm aware of that! but WCG BOINC was made for normal users...which uses dual or quad-cores mostly! good of you that you rented a server...I also use FREE servers, as you might have seen here: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,38039 but I wasn't referring to you alone...bu to the some people who post crazy big images on forum of smileys... ![]() if some of u want to use more Android devices for FREE, there is a way (but don't tell anyone I told you so): 1. go to the store of mobile phones 2. check some of the nice new Android powered phones: Samsungs, HTC (on this one use HTC power 2 give), Lenovo, etc... 3. install BOINC 4. login to WCG 5. leave it & ask about another device the clerk...or some other information! (not to be suspicious) this will get you badges 4 FA@h & OET projects! ![]() |

Hi All:
I just sent my last FAH result this morning. I am now ready to accept any resends if and when they become available. Now I will go back to the Clean Energy Project and get my 20 year badge in that project. Just need another 180 days. Congratulations to all participated in FAH and I trust this work will benefit humanity. Clive |

After the main FA@H effort, about a dozen resends came through
before I switched all my cores to OET. What a ride! I expect some of you will stick with FA@H 'til the very end two or three weeks from now. Thank you. |
