Had the same issue yesterday.
I've deleted the hanging downloads of the *.png.
I don't care about them as I don't use any screensavers or display the wu graphics (or how is it called?).

Then new wu were downloaded.

I too could care less about the graphics.
I might look at them once or twice over the life of a project.

Deleting the files fixed it for me. Thanks Eric.
Why do these files cause so much trouble? they should not cause crunchers to fall over...

Got you going, but one day the 'what sticky files have to be there' test will pull them again, or try to, middle of the night. d oh

Checked the WCG project folder and to much to my dismay see that bandwidth continues to be 'no object' to WCG... all the fixed .png and .gif files [39] were redownloaded, so the 'date created' stamp suggests, and sure enough the log shows at 14:55:11...

This may happen, but updating the client on android is not an option. For several reasons I have to stick with nativeboinc.
Eventually copying another png and renaming it might bypass the check for the existence.

Upgrading from 7.2.42 to 7.6.9 corrected the stat_v03.png and wcg_v01.png file download failure and I was able to get new WUs but only on the first PC, on the next 4 PCs the upgrade fixed the error for those 2 files but would not get new WUs instead the event log reports "not requesting tasks: some download is stalled" and just as I was about to upgrade a 5th PC still on 7.2.42 it started downloading WUs, so it seems to be a separate issue from the png file error.

Upgrading from 7.2.42 to 7.6.9 corrected the stat_v03.png and wcg_v01.png file download failure and I was able to get new WUs.

It works for me too on my PC.

I had the same download failure problem too.

I am using version 7.2.42 and have been running fine for months, but starting Friday 10/30 I simply got no new WUs while the BOINC manager stuck on those 2 .png files.

I aborted the transfers; new WUs arrived and crunching resumes.

Exactly the same here. I don't have time to fix it now so I'm just shutting it down.

Reinstalling Boinc has never been my favorite thing to do after I once ended up with an extra device listing.

Thanks guys! I had the same problem with the stat_v03.png and wcg_v01.png files. I deleted them from the Transfers tab and now all is well.
