I am not getting work units. I presume that this is part of the overall problem. My client says it has nothing to do. When Keith (uplinger) & Co are done...Any idea when this will change? ![]() |

Still not able to return/upload completed task. That is not surprising at all. Just over an hour ago Keith said "another few hours is my best guess." At that point the system disk check will possibly be complete and the file upload handlers will be starting up. Then the transitioner and validators get started up. In the meantime the servers will be swamped by 3.5million computers trying to connect at the same time. I expect they will have to limit the number of concurrent connections to avoid another implosion or denial of service. This is a major outage and I expect will take at least 24 hours to get back on track.

Let's not exaggerate.... there's about 250K active devices. The 3.5 million is the number of 'installs' (with emphasis as a device over it's contributing life-span can have multiple to many installs, reinstalls, logged by WCG as a new device).

On BOINCTUI I first noticed "Transient HTTP Error" then shortly after it said "Backing Off" and same goes for my OS X machines.
----------------------------------------Thanks WCG for working on it asap :) also it's summer now so the heat generated for 30+ machines was getting a little bit ridiculous anyway needed a good break lol. ![]()
I may be only #890 out of 750,000 but you just wait until I build my datacentre!

Thanks - I stand corrected. Still a large number. I was looking at this page . At the bottom, it gives a graphical representation of the number of "Current Members by Region" which adds to just less than the total number of members mentioned at the top (i.e. 735,122). Should the word "Current" in the title of the graphic rather be "Historical Cumulative" or similar?

'Active' members (retained), stood for a long time well above BOINC world, but has sunk in recent years close to BOINC world wide... it's less than 60,000 last I looked. Both measures are relating to a member/device having reported a valid result in the past 30-60 days... depends on which stats site you look. BOINCStats shows 56K./OT |
