Got 4 resends, on 64-bit Linux VM under XP-x64 host, 3770K CPU.
BETA_ beta26_ 00000021_ 0357_ 1 BETA_ beta26_ 00000021_ 0348_ 1 BETA_ beta26_ 00000021_ 0368_ 1 BETA_ beta26_ 00000021_ 0364_ 1 All 4 wingmen errored with "Got signal 11" at 0.61 - 0.63h Mine are running OK after 35m - 2h05m, and have all resumed OK from checkpoints after a system reboot. CHECKPOINTING: As pointed out above by Sekerob-superstar, these betas checkpoint relatively infrequently so crunchers will waste CPU time if they shut down their BOINC clients unless they first suspend all running betas immediately after each one checkpoints. BOINC Manager does not have a facility to do this. BoincTasks DOES!! And it shows no of checkpoints so far (in[]) and time since last. Handy. There are small delays between checkpointing and suspending, suggesting that checkpointing is polled, rather than via signals sent from the BOINC client. The disadvantage of BoincTasks is that it's harder to set up than is Boinc Manager. Should members be informed/reminded of the above advantage of BoincTasks when this new project is launched? |

Looks like we are seeing errors on the 64bit Windows version, that is the second error you are seeing. We are looking into it. I have the resend BETA_ beta26_ 00000021_ 0609_ 2--. Both _0 and _1 errored with Incorrect function (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1) and ERROR: Value of inactive option accessed: -in:file:native; however _2 has started up without an error (so far). In the Result Log _0 and _1 have command: projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_beta26_rosetta_7.08_windows_x86_64whereas (in stderr.txt) _2 has command: projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_beta26_rosetta_7.08_windows_intelx86It looks as though my (64 bit) machine is running the 32 bit app version whereas the errored wingmen were running the 64 bit app version. The first checkpoint was at 20 mins. Edit: Completed successfully (in PVal, Quorum 1) in 8.44hr, 27 structures (from the Result Log), so 18.75min each on average (the only time when the checkpointing takes place? - at the end of each structure). Same as Tony reported.
I got a resend from a machine that tried running projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_beta26_rosetta_7.08_windows_x86_64 Received the resend BETA_ beta26_ 00000021_ 0049_ 1-- on a Win7 64bit, but the task is running with the windows_intelx86. The started well and is now running 47 minutes and 5% done. Strange for me is that this beta task initially was started with quorum 1. |

If it is what little information taken from the slot info and result log, random generator, rosetta, , abrelax , i.e protein folding, it is likely a similar scheme as HPF2 of results being grouped. Vaguely remember this was like 30,000 for the then project.
Just wild guessing. |

It's normal for Betas to sit in Pending Validation, even with quorum of 1. The validator normally doesn't run on betas until the admin starts it up, probably once they have enough returned WUs. Betas also normally stay in Results Status until they run another task after the beta ends to clean that up.

keith,
----------------------------------------This Wu never completely downloaded to my computer. The download failed. It never even tried to run. I went to one of my Intel micro sticks running Linux. The download "gave up" due to a "permanent HTTP error. Looks like we are seeing errors on the 64bit Windows version, ... That explains it. The first person had Win 7 "Enterprise x64 Edition, Service Pack 1" and ended in a quick error but my Linux "4.8.0-34-generic" ran them fine in 9 hours. BETA_beta26_00000021_0558 BETA_beta26_00000021_0576 Edit: They are both Pending Validation and a new copy has yet to be sent out to other wingmen. Did it get put on hold while techs are looking into the 64bit Windows issue? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Seoulpowergrid at Jul 24, 2017 2:23:49 AM] |
