If it is what little information taken from the slot info and result log, random generator, rosetta, , abrelax , i.e protein folding, it is likely a similar scheme as HPF2 of results being grouped. Vaguely remember this was like 30,000 for the then project.

Just wild guessing.

I am not 100% sure what the 30,000 you mention refers to, if you are referring to the amount of work for the project in question there was a lot more than 30,000 units that were returned. 158,386,862 were returned to be precise

30,000 maybe even 50,000, it's long ago and too lazy to look up, was the 'ensemble' from which (let's call it) statistical significance could be drawn, way past our bedtime. There may be some FAQ in the Community section, where then 15, 12 later 10 were put together in a distribution, but each is slightly different and minimum 5-6 were needed before validation commenced. Anyway, this here smells like that approach has been abandoned, or not. The results would not take equal computing time on one computer, let alone on a distributed set, so there's some challenges for the ever pestering cobblestone crediting.

But it's all pure speculation on the little known, and the little remembered.

Oh, and here are all the FAQs that mentioned HPF2: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...=0&sort=1&rows=20

Enjoy (memory lane)

Re: New Beta Test - July 21, 2017 [ Issues Thread ]

Looks like we are seeing errors on the 64bit Windows version, ...
That explains it. The first person had Win 7 "Enterprise x64 Edition, Service Pack 1" and ended in a quick error but my Linux "4.8.0-34-generic" ran them fine in 9 hours.

It's not the 64bit Windows OS that's most important, cause WCG also sends 32-bit tasks to 64bit machines.
It's more informative, whether the application that caused the error was 32bit or 64bit.

Re: New Beta Test - July 21, 2017 [ Issues Thread ]

Thanks to all the beta testers. Overall with the exception of the issue with the 64 bit windows application version this batch ran pretty clean. We will be loading more batches soon and will exclude the Windows 64 bit application binary while we investigate that issue. The 32 bit windows application binary will be included so work will be available on both Windows 32 and 64 bit OS versions just running on the 32 bit application binary only.

As some have noted checkpoint intervals were longer than usual for this run. For this application the checkpoint times will vary with the size of the input structure. All workunits for a batch will run the same input structure and the structure for this batch was on the large size, although there will be some larger input structures. If the checkpoint interval is a concern on slower machines one may want to consider checking the leave application in memory option.

Thanks,
armstrdj

What about the signal 11 deaths in Linux clients? Both of mine got that, as well as a bunch of others that were reported above:
All 4 wingmen errored with "Got signal 11" at 0.61 - 0.63h

Re: New Beta Test - July 21, 2017 [ Issues Thread ]

I'm running several BETA_beta26_00000014_0xxx_0 (Beta 7.08) work units on an AMD Ryzen system (Win10 x64 Creators update). The progress bar moved as normal for the first few minutes until it reached 4.444%. Since reaching that point, another 30mins has elapsed but the progress bar is still frozen at 4.444% and does not move. Is this normal behaviour?

Update: The progress bar does move afterall. It has now been crunching for 1hr and the progress bar has increased to 6.666%. Interestingly, the time estimate for these work units is 53mins only.
