I managed to snag one of these betas. It ran with no problems. It ran under Linux Mint on a I7-2600K. The points yield looks unusually high at 65.7 points/hour.

Maybe the number of work units is a little low - chances that people who get the betas also realize it and check the forums are slim.

That being said, I've been assigned three, and all completed with no issue.

I got some late last night and didn't notice until this morning. They all took about 2 hours and completed with no issues.

Sgt. Joe - I only got about 57 points for the 2 hour run for mine.

The good news is, nothing major for issues! :)

We are going to be increasing the number of workunits and test cases soon. I am working on adding about 3000 workunits. These workunits will have the 1 hour, 3 hour and 5 hour workunits. This should provide more work for people to snag in the long run as this is a continual beta. New workunits are created automatically from the results that come back in.

Thanks,

Got one of these WUs pending.
FAH2_ 9999994_ avx38789_ 000001_ 000056_ 002_ 1--
Hasn't started yet. Looks like it's at the bottom - is there a way I can move this guy to the top?
On an i5'2300 and estimates it's going to take an hour and 11 minutes.
Sorry for perhaps a silly question.

Your question is not silly. My answer may be.
I always check the due date/time of new arrivals.
If one is urgent, I suspend those in front of it so that one will start running.
Then I resume the others until all cores are busy.
Maybe others have other solutions, in which case we both will learn something, wolfman1360.

Well, this is a beta test. As long as the science is good, I don't care that much for the points, but I know some do. So if the points are off in one direction or another it is good we both let the techs know.

Cheers

Hi,
Thank you. This makes sense. However this leads me to another question.
What, exactly, is 'high priority'? I have read about it on various topics in this forum but can't quite understand it.
Is it still used in the boinc client? Maybe it's no longer used and that's why I'm confused.
On all my hosts, I have never seen a task listed as such and I'm wondering what triggers it?
Does a task have to be close to missing the deadline and are my points/contribution changed because of it?
Keep in mind I'm still using the default 0.5 days of cash (I think this is default anyway) with boinc set to connect every 0.1 days so maybe this won't effect me?
This core i5 core for core is handily beating my fx8350 for WUs, too. Odd.

Re: FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2 - AsyncRE - Beta Test Oct 11, 2017 [ Issues Thread ]

In my experience, when I reentered WCG a couple of month ago, I received some "high priority" WUs that took precedence (automatically) over what else was crunching. But lately (some six weeks) I have seen none.

However, I do receive the odd WU/WUs that has a shorter "expiration date" in between, and those I give priority myself as described in my above and by you quoted post.
