Base Camp will begin a five-day trek to CRUNCHERS SANS FRONTIERES on March 22, 2019, and you’re invited. Headstarts - which several seasoned Base Campers habitually have made already are encouraged  The purpose is to thank this team and especially its capitaine [CSF] Thomas H.V. Dupont for his commitment to crunching and hard work to try to make us feel like a community, for arranging the annual THOR Challenge, and for trying to make the new invention, the ATHENA TROPHY fly - it didn’t. It flopped. We disappointed him and now we want to comfort, and express we appreciate all he does this way. You can earn this badge  We look forward to seeing you at our campfire  P.S. We have a French cook – and BladeD is trying his best, too, making delicious roasts  |

Invitation Base Camp will begin a week long trek tomorrow April 20 to Global Protection Team and you’re invited. Two things in particular make this trek special: 1. You will be rewarded with the widest badge in Base Camp History  2. The trek goes to Denmark where we find the Captain not far from Elsinore where Hamlet, William Shakespeare’s Prince of Denmark, said: a. To live or to die, that’s the question.  He also said: b. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark  Well, our camp site is fresh and green and will be close to Hamlet’s castle and you will have plenty to eat and drink. So, please, hurry up and join this new, active team from Scandinavia. Base Camp will begin a five-day long trek tomorrow May 15 to the team named # A better world # --> TronderEnergiKraft AS and you’re invited  Base Camp has been to Finland (twice), to Sweden, and most recently even Denmark, so visiting Norway right around Norway’s National Day May 17th seems like a good idea. We don’t know anything about the team, except for Troge who showed up in our Crunchers Sans Frontieres trek being a member. Troge was member of Team Norway and Base Camp wanted to return the favor.  However, Troge was gone from team Norway!We found him as a new member of the above very small team. The team has no team thread here on WCG, but we'll make a camp fire and entertain ourselves if need be - and we have a French cook specializing in cooking over that fire   We have this badge for every participant in this trek and should be pleased to deal it to YOU We know you have been wanting to go Base Camping for a long time, soooo … why not trek with us to Norway?  See you there |

Invitation Base Camp is currently trekking with Sawyer's Cancer Fighting Network. When we reach 100 years there, we shall not leave but seamlessly continue with our OldChap trek. Invitation A reminder: Base Camp finished the 'Sawyer's Dad' trek and we're working Base Camp's 'OldChap' trek now. The 'OldChap' trek will run for another 4½ weeks until OldChap has completed the fairly unpleasant treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of his neck which will prevent him from enjoying the delicacies of Christmas this year. The work you do as a Base Camper on this trek, will be channeled into team Sawyer's Cancer Fighting Network created for Sawyer's Dad who is undergoing treatment for brain cancer. It may have slipped your attention that Base Camp currently is trekking to Sawyer's Cancer Fighting Network to support Sawyer - age 13 - supporting his Dad being treated for brain cancer by collecting 1,000 years of crunching. Preferably cancer research WUs, but he'll take whatever currency you have in your pocket. The trek is so to speak a double trek because it also honours OldChap who underwent treatment for squamous cell carcinoma of his neck before Christmas and is now isolating in Plymouth, England, because of the added vulnerability surgery and follow-up treatment poses. The trek is the most long term one Base Camp ever did, so you are welcome to come and go and return at your convenience, and you will receive two badges in one go.
