Groundbreaking Strides' Made in Zika Vaccine Research
Development of a Zika vaccine is proceeding rapidly, but it still will be years before such a vaccine is available to the public, says the author of a new report on research efforts. Three leading vaccine candidates are being tested in humans. Two are based on cutting-edge DNA vaccine technology and the third is based on the more standard inactivated virus model, said Dr. Stephen Thomas. He's a professor of infectious disease with the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. "The pace of R&D for a Zika vaccine is incredibly brisk," Thomas said. "Truly, some groundbreaking strides have been made in very short periods of time." But Thomas believes it will be at least two to four years before a vaccine has received federal approval and enters mass production. Read more here |

I like the way you vary your posts, Captain smspell.
When you post research news, you may want to do it in the 'Interesting news about ....' threads such as this one for cancer. You could always post it here in your team thread as well and make a link to the appropriate 'Interesting news ...' thread/post. The purpose of making this collection of news is that it makes it easy for all of us to inform ourselves. If you go to the 'Index' up ^^^^ there and look in each project's forum, you'll find these 'Interesting news ....' Please don't take this as any form of criticism. You are doing very well  I cannot understand why DOD didn't make a general out of you. Base Camp has a badge ready for the trek we'll begin on August 1:  |
