Well, I was able to check one of the remote hosts that got those WUs and the runtime estimates are certainly off. Like 17% done in 3h and it shows remaining 28min...

31% at 22 hours heading for 70, like CPDNhas been doing since year, a prime candidate for a trickle/credit policy. Oh, and only 2 checkpoints in the first 19 hours at 3.4Ghz. Recommend a sturdy UPS.

Deadline seems to be varying. Three units have a 4-day deadline, the other two a 7-day deadline as was reported before. The initial 100 workunits (200 results) had an initial deadline of 4 days. The remaining workunits have a deadline of 7 days. If a resend happens due to an error, then the resent result will have a shorter deadline. If my memory serves me correctly, this is set to 40% of the original deadline. So this would be about 3 days. Note: resends should end in a _2, _3, etc.... Thanks, -Uplinger Or, like HST1, just keep it fixed, at 10 days with a projected 70 hours now after 22 hours and 30%. |

Thanks, -Uplinger I got a resend: BETA_ARP1_0000088_000_2 (Original _1: aborting on client exit after almost 8 hours run time) Deadline: 02 Jun 23:25:28 Received: 29 May 23:25:27 The deadline is 4 days for this task. The same as result _0. The main thing we are looking at with this test is the valid rate after restarts. I restarted a task 10 minutes after the 2nd checkpoint (LAIM off) was made. Reported first of three.
----------------------------------------Seems it thinks it only took 14.07 minutes to run. It was more like 18 hours. and 32 credits for 18 hours work is garbage. Restarted clients with remaining two. One picked up fine, the other seems to have lost about 7 hours of run time. Neither errored out as yet. Thus, I am thinking they are either using larger geographic areas, or they are not trying to simulate the entire surface of the Earth and are using many fewer areas of the earth, maybe only land areas or populated areas or heavily trafficed ares of the oceans. This is, of course, only speculation by a highly uninformed cruncher. Feel free to correct or speculate as you wish. The Africa study would be a lot smaller, for example. But bring it on. I will add machines as necessary. |

When this workunit reached 100% it took a whole minute to complete and end its final processing.
