Re: For Current Volunteers: Advance Information on Our Newest Project

Whats the scale of the project ? Going from some history point and try to verify data and then going into a future ? Any starting estimate on workload which is planned to go through?

Please review the system requirements page for this project.

volunteers who choose to run this project may want to consider using the 'Leave applications in memory while suspended' option in their device profile

Looking at the system requirements page for this science, could it be that this advice should be added for this project, too? ("5. Users who choose to run this project are encouraged to set the 'Leave applications in memory while suspended' option in their device profile") Just like it has been done for OpenZika and Smash Childhood Cancer.

Re: For Current Volunteers: Advance Information on Our Newest Project

Is the 1 GB RAM requirement for each task? I.E., if I want to run 8 concurrent, I would need 8 GB for the tasks?

Each WU equals a simulated 48 hours, then the next WU is created. How long of a simulated period of time will each thread go for? 1 year? More?

The target right now is 1 year.

Thanks,
armstrdj

Yes that is 1 GB per task.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like it's time for a project limit plus app_config max running combo. Looking forward to getting started once my queue runs down.

Re: For Current Volunteers: Advance Information on Our Newest Project

I just started running one of these tasks, and the deadline is 2 days, 10 hours, and 48 minutes. That's 211680 seconds. That's a very odd number, and is also rather short for tasks expected to *average* 24 hours.

Is this an error?

Re: For Current Volunteers: Advance Information on Our Newest Project

You might have a repair job as the one original I have is exactly 7 days. Repairs have a deadline of about 30% of the original one, so about 2.1 days.

You're right about that. The first task has a 7 day deadline, the next two were errors, and the fourth task (mine) has about 58 hours.
